The carabiner it comes with is very nice auto-locking D that seems to have the applicable certifications. For instance, it clams to be CE 1019 and EN 362:2004/B and 12275:2013 rated… doesn’t have UIAA climbing-specific ones but not sure that matters, because they have EN ratings instead. For reference, a random auto-locking pear I pulled out of my closet is rated CE 0120 and has a “UIAA” stamp, but no number or EN ratings. OF COURSE there is always the risk that any manufacturer could just stamp these things without actually meeting the standards—but I’m not sure what can be done about that as there doesn’t seem to be a central registry, and I think it’s probably safe to just trust the manufacturer until proven otherwise. The main steel locking hook is stamped ANSI Z2359.12 and CSA Z259.12, with a SA stamp as well. It seems sturdy and of basically the same quality of any of these auto-locking hooks I’ve used in the past on industrial harnesses. It actuates easily and has a double-keyed gate to prevent harness web loop from accidentally slipping through and opening the gate. The rope itself is sturdy and the nylon mantle is firm with little give despite being much larger than the steel kern (this is typical for steel fliplines though). The ends are swaged, steel independent of nylon. More expensive designs often swage them both together for extra safety. The ascender/prussik is pre-affixed but can be removed with a large hex screw. Good spring force, locks securely. It’s cast aluminum not machined. I don’t think that makes much of a difference. The cam teeth are not biased, so it likely will cause less rope damage over time (good thing by and large). One notable aspect: there is almost nothing at the end of the rope to prevent the ascender from pulling straight through! (The swage mostly jams it but don’t trust your life on that!) For safety, I’d recommend throwing a locking carabiner through the steel eye during usage.

This flipline kit comes with everything you need to make your way up a tree trunk safely. I’ve been doing “in tree” work for years, mostly self-trained, but with some formal along the way. When I considered ordering this kit the first thought that went through my mind was “is there certification”. The listing description details those specifics nicely, so I went ahead and ordered. I’m glad I did. Each of the parts appear to be above average quality. And all have a certification stamp, with the one exception…the rope. Normally, I would expect to see a tag attached lengthwise and encased under a plastic sleeve. Brand, date, inspector, etc. But the 1/2” fliipline that came with this kit has no such certification tag. Although the listing mentions certification in a general way with their products, I do not see any specific claim that the rope itself is certified. Still, I have to assume that if they have a system in place to get their inventory certified, the fliplines just have to be included. Here’s a rundown of the specs:ROPE:13.2mm diameter; 7x19 galvanized steel strands22.6kN Maximum breaking strength24-strand polyester fiber braidSTEEL SWIVEL SNAP HOOK:Minimum Break Strength: 5000 lbANSI Z359.12ROPE GRABBER:12-14MM Rope CapacityEN358No Stamp To Indicated the Safe WLL (Working Load Limit)D-RING CARABINER:Major Axis: 35kNMinor Axis: 9kNOpen Gate: 10kNEN 362:2004/BEN 12275:2013I did notice one discrepancy. The steel swivel snap hook has a stamp that indicates a 5000-lb limit. The listing, however, cites 44KN, which is double the stamped limit. I’ll go with what’s on the hook.As for the price, I have to say it’s a bargain. If I purchase a flipline kit from one of my favorite local arborist companies, I would expect to pay at least 2-3x more. Of course, the quality is much better, so it’s a case of getting what you pay for. But in this case, that’s not a bad thing. The quality of this flipline kit is still very good, just not exceptional. If you're new to climbing or a seasoned arborist looking for a bargain, I highly recommend this flipline kit. It's complete, certified, and good quality. You won't be disappointed! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It’s been years since I’ve needed anything like this but, this setup arrived quickly and it’s all fine quality. It’s also quite competitive in price and quality when looking around at its competitors. They s asleep included and nice and tough canvas type drawstring sack to store it in, so it’s good for the next time you need it. I’m happy with it and would definitely recommend!
