Wow! This booster is great! Well, I received it today. It's both beautiful and functional. I'm trying it out on a horn and setup I use for lead playing as well as a soprano bugle in G I use in a drum and bugle corps.I'm a professional trumpeter in NYC and am usually skeptical about things that may appear to be gimkicky, BUT:Both horns already slot quite well, from low to high - and they get a great sound, but adding this has given me even more of the following:- a bit more meaty core to my sound, even up extremely high in my range. My sound has opened up even more, without sounding dull and its easier to play. There is not too much Mass on the booster, so I still have rich overtones, coupled with a very robust sound!- slotting is even more secure. I can also play lip trills even easier than before with the same setup. This means less chips, bumps or unstable notes. Whew!- articulation is easier, more clear and the tone speaks easier. Articulation is of great importance when playing the trumpet!- dynamic range has been increased with more security knowing notes won't cut off at fortissimo levels and beyond. I can easily play from very quiet to very loud levels with more security and confidence.- overall improved, instantaneous playing ability! That's a huge plus for me!I'm not too big on a lot of equipment/mouthpiece/horn changes, but if it gives me instantaneous gains on a very difficult instrument, I'm all for it!I can honestly say I'm happy with this booster and it's a definite keeper. I'm going to recommend this high-quality product to my 🎺 playing friends! You should buy this if you're looking for a well-made booster that will give you instant gains! It's worth it and then some!

The first thing you notice when you open the package is that this is not a cheap add on device. The workmanship is solid and the fit is perfect. I play on a Schilke 12a4a and when installed it looks as if it were tailored made. It is an attractive device. Upon playing I immediately notice that my sound is more stable especially in the high register. I did not gain any additional notes as I play well in the high D and occasional E but never found the need to go higher so I do not work to achieve a higher range. The same can be said for the low register. I do not feel the tone as darker as some have said however I can understand why others have that impression because as you move from various ranges you get the feel that the notes are holding solid when you normally start to wobble at the end of your breath. This is a good device for those of us who either cannot afford or want to spend for heavier custom horns as I am sure that the more expensive horns are built with this weight effect. I like the look overall and pleased with the slight but noticeable change. It will not make you a better player, but it will enhance whst you can already do. This is a worthwhile purchase. I ordered the gold plated version because my mouthpiece is the same so the match was perfect. I plan to leave it on for all of my playing unlike others who say they remove for certain situations. My horn is a 30 year old Yamaha 6335 series. I would probably guess that if you own a newer Xeno horn you probably will not notice a difference because Yamaha increased the weight of their new horns probably for the same affect. This is not a miracle device, however, if you are a serious player that gigs and or practice regularly with an older horn, I believe you will be satisfied also.

Amazon excellent.I have had the Curry Monster sleeve and it is very similar to the effect of this KGU attachment. The difference is that the KGU is lighter (the curry is very heavy) and adapts to all mouthpieces in a standard way (Curry only with Curry and a few other mouthpieces). I highly recommend it, I put it in a Bob Reeves 43.5W692sL and it achieved the sound and effect I expected and without being too heavy (very important for me) Only two details, one, came with some brass burr and you have to wash it and sand the ring a little bit the edges, very little, so that it does not scratch the mouthpiece. Two, although this adapts to pressure, By adjusting the body towards the ring, if done with force you can achieve detach the ring from the body of the mouthpiece and detach it, only take care of those details.

I understand what this does, I don't get why - but it does work. And I don't get tired as quickly. UPDATING: I've been using it for about 6 weeks now. It allows me to play softly and maintain good tone and pitch easily, with or without a mute. I also seem to be able to play consistently higher, with less effort, and longer. It makes practicing fun, too, since I can play better, longer - and in turn, that makes rehearsals and concerts more fun. If you're hunting for a unique gift for a young trumpet player (or even an IHOP discount qualifying early bird dinner bifocal balding fossil like me), this would be a good one. I don't think I've had this much fun since I tied some roman candles to a couple dozen helium balloons and sent them drifting over the local "naturist" camp picnic one evening. (Officially, it's not funny and my probation officer would not approve of this post. Had there been cell phone videos back then, it would have gone viral, and that evidence would probably have resulted in a "period of confinement". But if I'd had a mouthpiece booster, I'd probably have been playing my trumpet and not been engaged in atmospheric pyrotechnic misadventures and not inadvertently creating spontaneous excretory problems for the clothing optional members of society.) So, keep your horn players off the streets and keep society safe. Get 'em a mouthpiece booster.

The mouth piece makes an immediate change in the tone of my trumpet. It’s easier to play high and low notes with nice sound. This is a worthy investment for anyone, especially intermediate and advanced trumpet players. Shipping was fast too :) Totally recommend!
