I keep misplacing my TSA travel locks and needed another one prior to my next trip so I opted for this one for its unique color (blue instead of the usual black) and the affordable price. You do get what you pay for--this lock appears less sturdy than similar TSA locks as this one is made mostly of plastic. Other TSA locks I have owned in the past were made of more metal (and probably sturdier) parts. Also, the first lock I received was defective--I could not adjust the clasp to allow me set my own passcode so I had to return the for a replacement. Regardless, the second lock I received did its job and appears to be able to handle future trips. I would probably pay a couple of dollars more for a sturdier lock.

This review is for, "UP Security TSA Approved Locks Mini Combination Padlock Travel Luggage Suitcase Backpack Zipper Small Combo Lock Lightweight 3 Digit Code Number Padlock for Gym School Locker Tool Box (1, Blue) "Works perfectly fine for intended purpose of travel, as it is TSA approve one can lock their suitcases/luggage etc and TSA will be able to remove this if they would like to inspect the luggage.As a padlock it's little bit flimsy, seems like it would break under little pressure. I am using this to keeping our small pantry locked, knowing that anyone can break it if needed. It's not for security just to deter a guest/stranger to peeping in.Overall a great TSA lock.

We have suitcases with a special series of TSA locks that are very difficult to lock because it takes at least three hands to isolate the two zipper holes into the bar that keeps them in place and no one in my house has an extra hand (or wants to help anyone else). A simple combination lock is called for by these least dexterous members of your household. So in theory, this is a great lock to have to replace the double locking process.The manufacturer, however, seems to have assumed that I’m an old hat at this (I’m definitely an old hat, but not at this), as the instructions are almost impossible to read. We tried photographing on the phone and pulling out, but the orientation of the sheet and the orientation of the camera made it hard to read at a single shot. Then we used the magnification app, which is fine if you don’t move at all. And we old hats do jiggle a little. Once we spend ten times the amount of time figuring out how to program, we were fine. It’s a very little lock that will hook your zippers together and keep your suitcase fastened. Despite the instructions suggesting it was a four number combination, it’s only three, but otherwise it’s fine. When you do read the instructions, they’re not entirely helpful as a couple steps are left out (yes, fasten the lock on your new combination in order for it to take effect). So: yes for the lock; no for the instructions.

Wanted something cheap, quick, and small to use the few times I need to lock something at the gym. I know from the Lock Picking Lawyer on youtube that these are not very secure for the fact they're a TSA lock (since so many people have the keys for them). I wouldn't be surprised if the lock is easily broken off or decoded. Very much just to keep the honest out. It's easy to set the combination, though the paper documentation is for a 4 digit lock rather than this 3 digit lock, the method is the same either way.
