This is a lightweight harness and the third strap makes it very difficult for a dog to escape. The fabric part of the harness has little pockets to fit the excess webbing into after you adjust it to fit your dog so there is no loose webbing flapping around. My dog did not mind wearing the harness while walking and did not escape from it. She had managed to escape from every other collar and harness I had tried. She has a 17 1/2 inch chest measurement and I bought the XS size. It was fairly easy to adjust to fit her. I hope I have finally found a truly escape proof harness.

I bought this harness for my German Shepherd female that is about 70lbs when she's in her summer beach weight phase. Initial impressions is that it is a quality harness with clean stitching, customizable (for name) inner tag, vibrant purple color, reflective stitch, and interior fabric to help with airflow (I think). The buckles are plastic and of the usual type, there is no secondary clamp (although I've yet to see a harness with a secondary strap lock to prevent the straps from loosening over time, outside of the normal figure-8 adjuster), strapping is good quality. The leash attachment is rugged thick metal. There is a velcro'd close hidden area on the backside of the chest strap, I assume that is to store your dogs airtag or wallet.This all sounds great, why the 4/5 stars?! It comes down to the material choice for the size -- this would have been a perfect setup, but I just don't feel confident in its ability to hold back a large breed. This feels like a small dog design that was scaled up, but not refactored for the strengths needed. I'd love to see a more ruggedized large-breed version released with the higher-quality strapping (higher-weave) and buckles normally found on the large-breed harnesses.Verdict: If you're looking for a stylish harness that for a medium to small sized dog, this is likely perfect for you. If you want it for a large breed, your mileage may vary depending on your trust level with your companion. My GSD is a feral rescue, so we haven't developed a trust level high enough that I felt confident with it.

Love it very secure and has alot of adjusting so that it fits perfect. Wears out too quick though. You may need to replace it after a couple of months.

Nice looking harness and worked for few weeks. Today though, my dog got out of her harness. It is snug on her all around but somehow she pulled herself out of it and left was the leash and the 4 buckles still snapped together.

My 10-pound chihuahua seems comfortable wearing this (xx-sm) harness on walks. The material is not thick or stiff, seems well-designed and constructed, and it fits my little dog nicely. She hasn't gotten out of this harness on her own in the 2 months we've had it (whereas, she has gotten out of 5 other harnesses we've used). I also really like the "handle" on the top of the harness, which allows me to easily hold her in one place when another dogs walks by, or even to safely lift her entire body with one hand (out of the car, for instance). It took my dog several weeks to get comfortable with my sliding it over her head to put it on her, but now she's fine with it.My husband and I both like the harness so much that we are planning to buy 2 more of the same size for our other two, longer 11-pound female chihuahuas. My biggest complaint is the lack of color choices (currently only 3).

I was looking for a sturdy harness with two features. First my old dog needed a handle I could grab to help her up and down steps etc. Bingo. Second, I wanted something easy to put on old dog. Bingo. This harness features a slip over the head design, no leg lifting, four solid clips, easily adjusted for fit plus it is solid and gives great comfort to me knowing it won't break. Leash can be put on back, another plus.
