Turnbuckles supply tension by adjusting the length for supporting rope, wire rope, and chain . At its most basic, a turnbuckle is a couple of threaded eye bolts linked to its torso. However, the end fittings can also be a jaw or hook, depending on the specific need of the turnbuckle. The instruments at each end (i.e. eye, hook) are adjustable and thread into the body frame. 5/32", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8" Turnbuckles vary in diameters and lengths which add to the usefulness of each type. For example, a large specification yields a higher load capacity whereas length allows for better adjustment capability.

These are true stainless steel. I'm not sure of the grade but it sure seems like 304. These will be used outside so we'll see how they hold up.On first inspection the turnbuckles are highly polished. The threads are made well and work very smoothly.I fully expect there to outlast me.

I used these to build a grape arbor a few years ago. The grape vines are now quite large with a good harvest this summer. Despite the wet, hot weather these turnbuckles have held up extremely well with no signs of corrosion. They are very easy to turn to tighten the support wires and still look brand new. Highly recommend.

So far, so good, no issues, they're fairly simple. But then again, I just started to use them. Only time will tell.

These worked great for installing my sun sail shade. They have a little tarnish from being in the elements, but are strong and easy to use.
