So get out and ride and have some fun, but make sure that you have the right tools like your flag.

I've been trying to decide on a quick release for our ATV flags for a while now. I hate leaving them on, especially when trailering the ATV's, as you either have to leave them up and flapping in the wind, or strap them down, which puts pressure on the fiberglass pole.The only good option is to have a quick release so you can take them off during transport and storage, but easily put them on when at the dunes or trail, without tools. I thought about building an 'air chuck' style setup as you can find on youtube, but what I really like about the Tusk solution is the ability to easily repair the flag in the field.If the fiberglass rod breaks, you simply cut the end clean and re-insert into the mount! If the rod breaks after epoxying it into an air chuck quick release, you're outta luck until you can get a new fitting and epoxy the rod back in.Overall, I'm very happy with these. I wrenched them down pretty hard and didn't strip the threads or damage the mounting bolt. The construction, materials, and finish seem great.When mounting the flag, all it takes is to hand tighten it down, and the flag is solid. Very good design.One word of caution - if you don't have a flag in the mount, don't tighten the locking mechanism too tight - doing so will cause the fingers or tangs inside to compress too far, and you'll have to stretch them back out before you can fit a flag in again. No permanent damage, just a note to avoid an inconvenience. (Just take a tapered punch or even a Philips screwdriver to readjust the fingers, if needed.)I highly recommend these, and will put them on all ATV's I ever buy!

This is a really nice quick release flag pole holder. I am starting to be a fan of the Tusk line. I have been buying more and more parts for my quads from this brand, and so far they have all been quality.As far as this holder, if your flag comes with a bolt, you will have to cut that off so that bottom of the flag pole is just the fibreglass pole. The instructions say to loosen it so the pole can go all of the way through the hole leaving about a 1/4 out of the bottom. Then tighten the holder as tight as you can get it with just your hand. This has worked well for me, and I have these on both of my quads. My girlfriend flipped one of my quads, and broke my flag at the base, (she is OK), This was no problem I loosened the flange with my hand (no tools needed) then I grabbed the quarter inch sticking out of the bottom with a pair of pliers to pull out the broken piece, and then cut a tiny bit off of the bottom of the flag to clean up the fibreglass then slipped the flag back in leaving another 1/4 inch out of the bottom, and away we went. I can loosen and tighten the flange with my hand with no tools needed, and have never lost a flag. I also once forgot to take the flag out and drove all of the way home with the quad in the back of my truck, and the flag was still there when I arrived home.

I have used these on several vehicles and they are the best solution if you remove the flags when you are not in areas where you need them. I don't understand why some reviewers said there are not enough threads. Mine work fine going through a 1/4" piece of aluminum with plenty of threads left. The only thing that kept this from getting a 5 star rating is that I ordered the silver one and they shipped the black. I'm ok with the black, but the bold, nut, and washers are bright, so they don't match the black on the tightening sleeve. I painted the bolt, nut and washers black to match the sleeve.
