We planned to install a "backlight" on our RV that will bring additional light feature to our cargo box we carry in our hitch for travels. Imagine stopping by a rest area - checking our cargo box or pulling something out of it - need that light. So, instead of a flashlight - we installed an additional "porch light" that is controlled by this switch inside the cabin.Something to note:1. The light is actually quite bright. If you plan to have it "on" while driving at night - you might consider the angle at which it glows - it's quite intense! For our application it works really well, as we only plan to use it in "on" position when need that additional light in the back of our RV. But it's so BRIGHT that we don't recommend driving with it on during a night - quite powerful and annoying.2. Installation is straight-forward. One connector - ground. Another - power source. Another - to the device. Super simple.3. Requires to drill a hole that is about 3/8" in diameter. Plastic nut secures on another side. Simple installation.We plan to install fog lights next and use of these to control it. But installation might be "away" from driver's face, yet still visible to see if the device is "on."HIGHLY RECOMMEND for the price and value! A+

They work fine. Light on the switch is bright. But the diagram on the product's page needs to swap the words "Power" and "Load". The positive from your power source should NOT connect to the middle prong. I got a short circuit twice, smoke everywhere, because of this. Even worse is I spent way too long thinking it was other things, like a bad connection, bad switch, etc. Wasted a ton of my time.

They don't take that well to solder with good gauge wire. But with the proper connectors they are fine.
