About this item

  • Plastic tubing for use with fuel and lubricants, including gasoline, kerosene, heating oils, cutting compounds, and glycol-based coolants
  • Translucent Tygon formulation F-4040-A plastic to allow visual flow monitoring with reduced exposure to ozone and UV light
  • Yellow color for quick tube identification among other system or machine tubes
  • Resistant to swelling, hardening, and embrittlement typically caused by hydrocarbon-based fluids
  • Working temperature range of -35 to 165 degrees F and durometer (hardness) of 57A

This yellow plastic tubing is made of Tygon formulation F-4040-A and is designed for transferring with fuel and lubricants, including gasoline and coolants. The translucent tubing permits limited ozone and ultraviolet (UV) light filtration while allowing visual flow monitoring, and the yellow color provides quick visual identification from other system tubing. The Tygon formulation F-4040-A plastic construction is designed for use with various fuels and lubricants, including gasoline, kerosene, heating oils, cutting compounds, and glycol-based coolants. It resists the swelling, hardening, and embrittlement typically caused by hydrocarbon-based fluids. The tubing has a working temperature range of -35 to 165 degrees F, a durometer (hardness) of 57A, and the working pressure ratings vary by tube size. This plastic tubing is rated as very flexible as it bends more easily than flexible or rigid tubing. The tubing is suitable for non-potable fluid service transferring coolants, heating fuels, polishing fluids and other lubricants, and for engine line and garden hose applications, among others.

Plastic tubing is used to transfer liquids, air, or solids, and it is characterized by a round, rectangular, or square shape and a hollow center. Plastic tubing is crimp-resistant and varies in bend radius (flexibility), chemical resistance, wall thickness, durometer hardness, and temperature and pressure handling abilities. The clarity of plastic tubing may be transparent (clear), translucent (semi-clear), or opaque (solid), and the tubing's coloring may indicate suitable applications. Barbed fittings are used to connect tubing or redirect flow in a fluid handling system. Plastic tubing is used in a wide variety of industries, such as agriculture, automotive, laboratory, and medicine. Applications for plastic tubing include blood and fluid handling, peristaltic pumps, electrical and thermal insulation, analytical systems, and food and beverage handling, among others.

Saint-Gobain Corporation manufactures plastic tubing for the food and beverage, chemical processing, industrial, laboratory, medical, pharmaceutical, and semiconductor processing industries under the Tygon brand in the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics sector. Founded in 1665, the company is headquartered in Courbevoie, France, and operates 45 plastics manufacturing sites worldwide.

After replacing fuel lines on my GS500 what seemed like yearly, I finally took the plunge and purchased proper tygon fuel tubing to be done with this once and for all. Great flexible tubing and will last significantly longer than generic rubber tubing. Easy to see that the fuel is flowing and you can ensure that the lines are primed, there's a reason this is the gold standard. Buy with confidence.

I received actual Tygon line which was a relief. Works good. 10/10 recommended.

tygon f4040 is the best semi-transparent fuel line. It doesn't get brittle like other similar line we have used.

This tubing is excellent for small engine fuel line use. It is a premium priced product at about twice the cost of other tubing intended for the same use. But in my case, I tried the other less costly, so called "premium" tubing options and found they failed for me. So to buy something for half the price that fails for my use is not really an option. My application must stay flexible down to below zero degree F application. So far, this is the only tubing I have found that does not collapse from pressure when hot, will stay flexible enough for my ATV fuel lines when running in below zero temps, and does not deteriorate and flake internally from the newer ethanol based fuel blends like the solid black rubber type of fuels lines. The transparent nature is also great in that it is easy to see fuel flow to help troubleshoot engine issues. I have previously purchased the Tygon in blue transparent and that also is excellent fuel line.

It is OK for a dirt bike, but it is very soft and flexible, I decided the vibration and chance of getting torn out by branches and deadfall I would rather have firmer tubing like the OE. Nothing against the tubing, it would be great for routing in a small engine that has some protection for the tuning. Also wish it was clear instead to see fuel flow when turning the fuel valve on.

I'm on my second spool of this. I have used it on everything from lawnmowers to my old diesel tractor. It's a nice upgrade for old rubber fuel lines, and it's useful when troubleshooting since you can see if there is fuel or air in the lines. Be aware it loses a little of it's bright yellow color with age. It is tough and stretchy though and in many low pressure applications it will seal on a barb fitting without even using a clamp, although I use hose clamps regardless.

Perfect soft replacement rubber fuel line.I had ordered the cheaper chinese type and i returned it immediately.Hopefully it will stay soft like the OEM line on my snowmobiles and karts. The sizing is correct , unlike some of the other brands.

I used this on my old BMW bike. I found I had to put hose clamps on after a while. The tubing doesn’t stay as tight as the rubber or the Tygon tubing.

The stuff is flexible, and has 'tygon' printed on the side. Replaced all lines in a skidoo I am rebuilding. Today fired up the skidoo, and while it was running gently pushed one of these lines a little off to the side to get to the idle setting on carb, and a jet of fuel squirts out of the line, about an inch above the attachment point. Like a micro hole as stream was extremely thin.. all over the clutch. Good thing I saw this before this caused everything to go up in flames. Buyer beware. Never had this happen with ANY grade of fuel line let alone some that costs this much.*update* Downgrading to one star. I noticed a bunch of fuel under the engine, which was obviously not from this firs leak that was spraying off to the side. It was coming off the fitting on the fuel pump. When I slightly pulled on that line, I could see a small mm wide cut spew gas out. So I needed to remove that, cut an inch off, and re-attach. So two leaks in a simple job of changing fuel lines on dual carbs on a skidoo. Again, I've never had even the cheapest line spring a leak like this before.
