I have a few different Yamaha products. These chargers take the place of the popular PS 130 and 150 units, since they output a bit more amps than the stock ones from Yamaha. They’re also cheaper. I have a bunch of them because as a working musician, I can’t afford to have a piece of gear go down because the power supply died.They also come with a nice long wire, so reaching an outlet is never an issue. Well worth the money.

I've been gigging with Yamaha keyboards for decades and never had a wall-mounted power supply fail so I didn't carry a spare (my fault). Arrived at the show and the keyboard was acting strange -- was working, but had some strange fade in/fade out/drop-out issues. I was able to get another power supply from home and it solved the problem. I have since purchased a couple of these as backups, which are working great. Can't tell any difference between these and the Yamaha OEM versions.

This is the 5th power supply I've owned for my Yamaha P80 keyboard. They have shown a tendency to fail after a few years, and I learned the hard way that I always need to carry a spare. I bought this one as a spare after my 3rd one failed and my last spare was pressed into active service. But I noticed that this one has a much thicker gauge wire and/or insulation and a significantly reinforced connection between the box and the wire, so it appears to be much more durable than all of its predecessors. It also includes a built-in cable tie and a light to indicate that it is plugged in. So now I'm using this as my active power supply and my last one is back to being the spare. This may be the last one I'll ever need to buy.
