First, I am not using the adhesive ring because I am using this on the F model of the FV-1 (FV-1F.) I followed some YouTube examples and added a Variable ND filter that screws onto the camera. (I'm using that for video to keep my exposure settings where I want them to adhere to the 180 rule.) Next I added a step-up ring that fits between the ND filter and the Ulanzi Wide Angle lens. (I have not used the macro option on this filter but what a great added benefit.)The short version is that this lens helps resolve the camera problem of not having a wide enough view angle, ESPECIALLY when using the stabilization setting on the FV-1 version cameras because of the crop in 'feature' that occurs when stabilization is turned on. This does add more weight and bulk to these small form factor cameras. However, what we're really after is good video. I am willing to have a bit more weight and bulk. For a much less expensive camera I've been able to get a better image. Eventually I will get a different primary vlogging camera and use this for b-roll or as a top camera. For now I'm really happy with it and will add more down the road with more use. And really, this still isn't as heavy or bulky as a much higher $$ vlogging camera with a separate lens!2 last mentions. First, because I'm using the F version I do not know how this works with the adhesion ring. There are some extremely positive reviews on YouTube as well as a some less than positive mentions. Second, on this FV-1F it is easy to unscrew the lens configuration I'm using and have the camera as the super small, compact pocket-size vlogging camera it is.Over all I really like this set up and will add more pros or cons as I discover any along the way.All the best in your own set ups!

I bought this to save money and not having to buy a zve10 macro lens for $500. Well, it works! There’s a slight blur around the edges but I can hardly see it.

I loved that it did not make my camera too heavy. It is a very high quality lense. It is worth the money spent on it.

This lens is a complete disappointment. The adhesive does not stick properly, causing the lens to fall off repeatedly. No matter how carefully it's applied, it won’t stay in place for more than three days. It's frustrating and feels like a total waste of time and money. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

I noticed a review mentioning it doesn’t come with a step out mount for the wide angle lens, and another about it not staying on. Everything you need for this camera is all together. You actually attach everything together when using the wide angle. Also, when initially mounting anything sticky, it requires time for the product to permanently bond. So I recommend sticking the adapter first without the lens so that you can let the bond adhere (think command strips) then after some time you can proceed to mount the lens which should stay on fairly well. Just make sure to attach the adapter centered. I’ve held my camera by the handle or tripod knowing the weight of the lens and it still stays on. I’m not as careful as I should be, and mine has stayed on quite well. Plus the wide angle and macro work perfectly well.If it’s still confusing, it goes camera > lens adapter > macro lens > wide angle lens > lens cover. When you want macro, just unscrew the wide angle. Hope this helps. It’s a great find to help a great camera.

I think this is a great lens other than the adhesive doesn't last. The lens is heavy so after awhile the adhesive stops sticking and lens falls off. So maybe better adhesive is need. What comes with it may not be strong enough.

The lens itself is fine. The threading could be a bit better, but can't complain too much for the price. My biggest point is that in the MAIN DESCRIPTION, it talks about 52mm filters. So... I bought 52mm filters. Well that is for the adapter ring, NOT THE LENS. Seems stupid not to mention the filter size needed FOR THE LENS, when I'm here to buy a lens, not a filter adapter ring. On second review, they DID make one mention about 58mm filters needed for the lens, but... not until the very bottom, and it's buried in the marketing pictures.

Wow, it actually works. Was very skeptical about having adhesive on the lens for the adaptor... but it actually works. It feels half as heavy as the camera. It feels a bit scary that it might weigh down the camera, but i still do it anyways. I get way too lazy to take off the lens when turning the camera on and off. Only time will tell if this will ruin the motors. I'd say it adds 25% more field of view when recording 4k with image stabilization active. I'd say it turns the 33mm (equivalent) to a 18-20mm which is much more usable. The shot feels a bit less claustrophobic. Is it necessary? Not really.. Especially if you shoot 1080p and stabilization off but really good option if you do selfie style vlogs at 4k image stabilization on which is what I do.

The product is great... except... the adhesive that connects the adaptor to the lens is WAY too wide for the Sony rx100. It spills over to the adjacent barrel and sticks the adaptor to that barrel!!! The camera would not activate properly and I had to turn ot on / off a number of times while pulling on the adaptor to unstick the lens! :-(The adhesive needs to be cut so that it is a maximum of 2 MM in width.

Amazing Lens for SONY ZV1 - It makes a huge difference when you try to record with the lens. It is a MUST buy for all the SONY ZV1 users.

You can estimate the quality of this just by picking it up. You feel the heft a good optical accessory should have.Didn't observe any discernable quality penalty with Sony Zv1.It does add significant heft to the camera though. But still worth it!!
