While I have only been crocheting for several years now, from the start I found and fell in love with Tunisian/Afghan crochet. Kim Guzman's book is one that should be at least looked at for those just starting to familiarize themselves with the style and the projects she includes are both easily understood/followed and can make for great gifts to family/friends. There are several basic stitches covered with this book, Tunisian Simple Stitch, Knit Stitch, Reverse Stitch, Extended Stitch and one or two others that are enough to keep you busy working the projects in the book as well coming up with some on your own.Instructions are easy to follow and are accompanied by pictures to allow you to see exactly what is being described. Some of the pictures however can be a bit difficult to determine just exactly what is going on due to the selection of yarn/color of yarn. Not many mind you, one or two that come to mind and if you have trouble with those in the book you can just go to her website where she has tutorials. This book is one that can lead to many hours of crocheting bliss as well some fantastic ideas for creating your own designs.

I love exploring my talents and feel this book is one that enables that capability. It is a beautiful book that arrived in new and good condition. I was very pleased and it is among my ka-gillion craft and fiber art books, however, it is the only book I have devoted entirely to the subject of Tunisian crochet. I will work through projects in it as time allows. I am please and recommend this if you are learning how to do this.

Easy to understand with helpful illustrations. Lucky me--friend found hooks and extenders at flea market booth, so I'm ready to begin.

Wow!!! Let me just say....I have crocheted all my life and have ALWAYS had the desire to learn how to knit. I purchased a few things to get me started knitting and discovered I SUCK at it....NOT my thing but I certainly love the look. I stumbled upon a Tunisian crochet video and once I found a straight hook it was ALL OVER....I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I feel like I was born to Tunisian crochet once I figured out a couple stitches...BUT I still needed to learn what the heck I was doing so I purchased this book...8-)What an amazing craft!!! This book has really helped me learn all the ins and outs of Tunisian Crochet. The photo I am including is of my variation of a crochet double stitch into Tunisian crochet...I wanted it fluffy when it lays down and separated it so you can see the stitch...but up top you can see how it will look if it is just laying down. The red object is my eye glass case so you can see the size of the stitch. I managed to keep all the appropriate stitches and kept it from curling and the edges are all straight. This pic is my first project of just going wild after reading the book and doing a bit of practicing!!! I am well on my way to faking my mother out with some dish clothes and towels....She refuses to use crocheted wash clothes or towels...Her insistence is knit ONLY...Wish me luck!!! ;-)

Disappointing. I want to learn more tunisian stitches and bought this book because other reviewers said it had good pictures that showed the stitches. It does but the instructions are still hard for me to understand. I started to make the cowl but you need to ch 156 and I couldn't fit 156 stitches on my hook. Not sure how you make bigger pieces. I'll keep at it. I saw the same book at ACMoore.

Looking for a second book on Tunisian crochet information and patterns, so I ordered this one. It arrived 1 day early, yeah! Looked over the book and I'm very pleased with it. Even tho it arrived via USPS, there were no torn or bent pages. I think next time I order from Amazon, I'll double check and pay the difference so that UPS delivers instead of postal service. I really enjoy doing Kim Guzman's patterns, also has free patterns on-line too, and can't wait to start the scarf on page 14. Thank you for sending a top notch product. Would recommend this book to someone wanting to learn to Tunisian crochet and it's patterns!

I actually started a tunisian pattern in a different book, but the instructions were not very clear. I ended up using the instructions in this book to help me on my first tunisian pattern and the instructions in this book are very clear and easy to understand.

I had never done Tunisian crochet before. I got this book and taught myself. Aide a baby Afghan and it came out beautiful. Thanks for easy to follow instructions.

This large though thinnish booklet is handy as a reference & it has a few great unusual patterns. Probably more for a more an ‘ambitious’ or braver beginner? As a non beginner I found it good for revision & giving courage to explore more into Tunisian crochet diversity. I thought it well written. The font is large, good paper, not too shiny & has helpful enlarged photos. Pleased to buy it.

5 stars if it had more variations in the projects (it has only knit-type)

I've been crocheting since a very young age and do all types including this particular style of crochet...I had no need to use the "anatomy of Tunisian crochet stitches" as can do all just by look but for the beginner as this this item states I'd say please do a multi test on sample pieces first until you can master the flow as each stitch has a two row working (unlike usual crochet or knitting) also whilst reading a pattern remember the start and end of each row from your practice piece...else like other you might end up with an increase on one edge and a decrease on the opposite edge...be patient and you can aspire to make some truly amazing and quickly worked items for you home and wardrobe...

Come da titolo, la designer Kim Guzman non delude. Il libro presenta nove progetti che permettono di fare pratica con la tecnica dell'uncinetto tunisino passando da "beginner" ad "intermediate". Decisamente consigliato!
