I've been fascinated by bento videos for a while and wanted to try making bento for myself. And while I thought about getting a more traditional wood bento box the price was a little steep to make a commitment. The Umami bento box is so neat, and for the price is such a great little bento set to start with. It holds a surprising amount of food -- in the photos above, the bottom tier has 6 oz. teriyaki grilled salmon atop 1 cup of white rice in one section, and 1/2 cup of edamame and half an avocado and a cherry tomato in the other section. Then the top tier is cold snacks -- half an apple, one carrot cut into sticks, a mandarin orange, and the 2 included sauce containers, one for salad dressing, one with Nutella for the apple slices. So, that's my lunch plus both of my snack breaks fitting easily into this compact bento box! What's really great is that instead of packing each snack into a separate, disposable plastic bag, I just put them into the bento box with a divider between them. This box will also fit a silicone muffin cup perfectly, which is useful for items you don't want to mix with other stuff (like kimchi, or cucumber salad).Clean-up is very fast -- the boxes and lids (except for the bamboo top) go right into the top rack of the dishwasher. The only thing I don't like about this kit is the chopsticks that are included in the utensil set. They're too small to hold comfortably. But that's really a non-issue, I can just add full-size chopsticks to my lunch bag instead. The bamboo fork/knife/spoon work fine and look fancy.

I recently started dialysis and because its a long sit down session they said I can bring healthy snacks. I needed something i could maneuver easily with one arm and also control portion size. These bento boxes fit the task perfectly. They allow me to transport my fruit and eggs securely, but aren't impossible to open. So far so good. I bought 2 with the fun limited edition design lids. Hopefully I can get all the sets so I can properly meal prep going forward. Lets see if they last!

It's a cute little bento box, perfect for bringing my lunch with me when I commute into the city. Seems sturdy enough and big enough to hold a reasonably sized lunch. I doubt it would keep anything hot or cold, but I can't imagine that being and issue for anyone, it's a lunchbox not a preservation technique. My only gripe comes from the lack of an actual bamboo lid. I'm not sure if they shouldn't have labeled the particular one I got as having real bamboo, but what I received was a fully plastic model, as evidenced in the photos. A little disappointed as that was one of the selling points for me, especially for the price, but it'll serve its purpose regardless.

The materials on the bento boxes are phenomenal! I even tested the box to see whether it can hold out when microwaving in 1,000 watts: sure enough, no melted nor damaged material! the wooden cover on the box is satisfying. The dividers might look plain and clunky, but all the designs are great! The bento strap to hold it all seems reliable.Though, it would be nice if the product also comes with a satchel-like pack for the bento box, in case if the strap is broken or missing. Or maybe add some more of those straps, like 3 or 4, in case of said damaged strap. And it would be nice to see the utensils having different color, depending on the choice style. For example, mine is the bamboo lotus. Thus, the utensils should be lime green and pink.

I have this to my daughter as a gift and she was thrilled. I thought it was small but it is deep and came with everything: cutlery and little containers for sauces or dressings. She makes lunches with leftovers or heat and eat items and this helps with portion control and keeps her on track to remember to eat. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe and stylish.

I love this bento box. It hold just enough food for my work lunch. The seals on each container prevents leaks. The divider is helpful on occasion, but I rarely use it. Comes with two sauce containers as well. I generally put rice in the bottom, and whatever toppings in the top. The total amount of food is perfect as a tall 56 year old man. Overall, this is my perfect lunchbox.

While the lunch box comes with several great features, such as multiple compartments, utensils, and sauce jars, my experience has been mixed, and there are a few notable drawbacks that could be improved.Design and Features: The lunch box has a sleek, black design and offers a good amount of compartments, making it versatile for packing different types of food. It comes with four utensils and two sauce jars, which is a nice touch for those who like to carry their condiments or dips separately. The nestable space-saving design is another standout feature, as it allows you to stack the containers easily, saving space in your bag or kitchen. The Issues: While the concept of stacking the containers is great for space-saving, I found that the containers are small and not flush with each other when stacked. The lack of a tight fit makes them a bit wobbly when stacked together, which is inconvenient if you’re trying to store or carry them efficiently. The containers don’t sit neatly in place, so they often shift or slide, which can lead to potential spillage or just a frustrating experience when packing.Another issue I had was with the strap. While I understand that the strap is meant to secure the lunch box, I found it unnecessary and a bit cumbersome. It’s not easy to remove, and I wish the design allowed for the strap to be easily detached or redesigned for a more convenient, quick-access feature. Having a strap that can't be removed without hassle detracts from the otherwise practical design of the lunch box. This is on the pricier side but mediocre quality.

The box looks amazing, I love the colour I chose. It's big enough for a complete meal and I like how you can keep it completely organized and clean and put all my favourite foods in one box. It's actually quite durable and the leak proof is definitely there. Though, the price gave me second thoughts.

I love this box, it's my second set. But for what it's worth, this one seems more fragile than my smaller one. The plastic seal isn't as good as my smaller one. Also, the little sauce jars are not the same as the smaller one and are feeble. One of them had the lid broken (probably hit the side of the bento while transporting). Otherwise, it is really good, and I'd be curious if I can freeze lunches in it!
