Nice fit, with a bit of sanding in the thickness for the saddle slot (Gibson slot still cut by humans! Hooray!).Sounds good, and properly tapered for intonation.Like the off white natural bone look better than ‘dyed white’! A good option.Have swapped in several bone saddles (on upgrade projects) for better top end definition... Works well for larger bass/mid heavy acoustics! This will get you there…Cheers

Bought this bone saddle from MacNichol Guitars to replace the Tusq ones that came from the factory on my 2012 Gibson Songwriter and 2022 Gibson J45 Standard. Installation was very easy and it took less than an hour to adjust the height and thickness using the 120 grit sandpaper provided. New bone saddle increased the volume and the bass response of both guitars, and it looks great with the bone bridge pins I also installed.

I replaced the TUSQ saddle in my 2018 Gibson J-15 with this bone nut. I'd put a 'Martin sized' saddle in my Martin DM a couple years ago too. Both guitars sound real good. In this recent comparison the J-15 does sound better now. The tone has a little more body too it.The saddles come with some sand paper and you'll likely need use it. I put a capo on the guitar to keep the strings from going every-which-way and then loosen them enough to get the saddle out/in. Don't take off too material at once. Sand it flat, evenly. Check the bottom against a flat surface to make sure it doesn't rock from unevenness.

Put matching pins in with it.The Gibson L-00 sounded good beforehand but there’s a noticeable difference and it was cheap quick and easy.

Came with everything I needed to sand the saddle down to my liking. It is *just* slightly bigger than the slot for my Gibson Songwriter Deluxe Ovangkol, so some quick sanding allowed me to slide the saddle in. This was great because I can always remove material, but adding material isn't going to happen. So it's nice that the saddle was crafted with a little bit of extra fat to trim to insure the best possible fit in final placement. The height of the saddle would be more than enough for any player, even one who preferred an extremely high action, so don't worry about not having enough material if you like your action high. You will have to sand down the height.Quick tips on sanding: follow the instructions. Use linear strokes and apply even pressure. I used a caliper, made guide marks, went very slowly, and I went through several iterations of testing by putting the strings back on and giving it a test ride to make sure I got the action *just right.* Again, you can always take off more material, but once it's gone, it's gone.

A nice pre-cut saddle. Was almost the right size as is for a modern J45 without a pickup installed. Needed to take in the sides slightly and take the height down to allow for the lr baggs pickup that sits underneath.Good bone quality and cut quality.

I changed out a TUSQ saddle in my Gibson J-45 with this unbleached bone saddle and it sounds great! I prefer this over the TUSQ personally. This product will require some shaping for your application, but just use calipers and string height gauges for your setup and you’re good to go.
