Thread Size
The thread size of the bottom drain and side port is M14*1.5.
Function
The switchable outlet/inlet and liquid level indicator can be placed on the left or right side. It provides an empty space for the expanding coolant and keeps the engine coolant at the operating temperature when the engine is running at optimal performance.

Absolutely fabulous craftsmanship!..I build and work on a lot of cars, street rods and racecars. Welding and fabrication is a large part of what I do. I got the chance to pick up and review this catch tank and will put it to work on a 57 Chevy I’m building. I’ve been a welder for roughly 50 years and I’ll tell it like it is - the welding on this reservoir is absolutely perfect. I find it hard to believe that it was welded by a person - it is that perfect. The machine work on the cap is really good also. The threads are a bit sharp, but no points off for that. The sight tube is plastic hose and I can’t speak to its durability at this point. The capacity of this unit is a little more than 2 quarts which is what I generally find to be sufficient for big block V8 engines.If you need a good coolant recovery tank that is actually show worthy - stop looking..I keep up with my reviews and will revisit this one should the need arise.I give this recovery tank my Big-Foot “Stomp†of approval and 5 stars!
