These armor plates were a very good upgrade from the level 1 foam plates I had in my previous riding garments. I had a flannel, a generic riding jacket, and a brand name Harley leather jacket and these pads fit in all of the except the generic jacket. I should say, the back piece didn't quite fit the generic jacket, but the back piece did fit in the others. They have the stamp on the back showing that they are certified level 2, but hopefully I never have to actually test that in a crash, lol. They are actually lighter than some of the level 1 pads I have and are a kind of honeycomb shape that breathes well. They are just as flexible as the foam level 1 I used to wear and are hardly noticeable.

I haven't crash tested it, an hopefully will not, but it is light and comfortable and allows for good airflow. It has CE certification stamps, so it should perform well in a crash. My one complaint is that the back pad is huge and won't fit in the armor pocket of a lot of jackets. The shoulder and elbow armor don't have this issue and they fit easily in every armor pocket I've tried them in .
