This fan is more than just a motor and a wheel. It is a full replacement for the entire fan, including the plate too.- The plate is an exact fit for mine, which has 3 tabs that locate the plate into the ceiling opening.- The dimensions of the motor and fan match that of my 18 year old fan perfectly, actually.- The Plug on this fan, does not match. This is a small problem as it turns out. (see below)>> The Plug is not long enough to reach the power plug located further up inside the housing See pictures, and you can tell that it is about 1-2 inches short.- I remedied this by using an adapter, which extended the length of the plus (see pictures).I wanted to get this job done right away, so I pulled off the plastic screen, held on by 2 clips, and having the new one in hand gave me an idea of how to pry the old one off the ceiling container.I took down the old one and when I tried to put the new one up that is when I noticed that it wouldn't work. I added an extension plug to the end and it goes up there. I had to kind of force it in there, but the new fan does have power now.Note: After installing the fan and putting things away I noticed that there were gloves and some handkerchief looking towels at the bottom of the box. Well, this was probably the top of the box, and I actually opened it up from the bottom. Pic included.The fan is quiet motor, and I am happy to have it!

This bathroom fan needed to be disassembled to fit into my existing bathroom fans location, where all I did was replace the motor assembly. The motor on this is very weak, albeit quiet. I don't get much airflow out of this fan, and wish I bought a reputable brand from a big box store instead.

First of all, the electric cord is too short. And the fan is rather weak since its blades are flat instead of at an angle. But there are some good things. It fits well into the exhaust fan area. Although the fan power could be better, it still moves enough air out. It's rather quiet as well. I wouldn't say it was easy installation due to very short cord but it functions alright. Let's just say it works but I am not blown away.

Bathroom fan finally dies after about 16 years, so I pulled the old one out, got the model (Nutone 688) and ordered this as a replacement. I thought I would need to swap out the motor but the whole mounting unit comes as one piece. Pay attention to the outlet hole placement as this need to be in the correct spot, in a corner and angled on this one. Install was pretty easy - getting the edges to lock up into the tabs took a little work with a screwdriver, but getting the old one out took some work as well so nothing surprising. Plugged it in and it fired right up. Noise level is about the same as the old one. Overall, happy with the unit and the easy swap.

Noise level is low easy to install it doesn't seem to push as much air as the old one but okay item

This is nearly identical with the Broan 688!Extremely easy to install. You simply remove the old fan and you install this one in it's place.The frame is identical, You plug it in and you are all set.The fan is quiet and it moves the air as expected.Excellent replacement!

Very happy overall with this replacement unit, was very easy to instal almost plug and play really. The fan power is very noticeable and the overall build quality was above avg. The only complaint I would have is its a bit louder than last, which isn't a deal breaker for me at all but someone will want to know.
