I had a Tel-Tru in my Big Green Egg for a number of years until it broke. Since it did a good job I ordered another Tel-Tru BQ325R here on Amazon. Unfortunately, the Tel Tru that I bought was leaky and within a short period of time there was water in it. Drops of water, not just a little bit. If you look at the reviews for Tel-Tru it's not an uncommon complaint.Bought one of these because the Tel-Tru failed and it's worked really well. It's accurate - compared it with another thermometer that clips on to the grate and most importantly it doesn't leak. Have had it out in the weather and the inside is as dry as a bone. Another big benefit - this thermometer is significantly less expensive.Next time I need a new one for my Egg, I'm getting another one of these. Why spend twice as much for a lousy product. Tel-Tru has really dropped the ball.

I haven’t used it yet, but have insttalled on Big Green Egg and it fit in hole and appears to be just what I needed.

I appreciate the instructions telling me how to check the calibration of the unit. I checked mine and it came in at reading 10 degrees lower than what it should be. The instructions said that I could return it if the calibration was off, but I elected to keep it as I now know what the actual reading is. For my needs it was going to be to much of a hassle for me to return.

Used since May -About 5 times Big Green Egg. Needle sticks and temp is incorrect!!
