I was going to have an electrician install this for me but it turns out that all I really needed was the power inlet, not the transfer switch itself. He told me that all I needed to do was turn off all of the breakers including the main, plug the generator cord into the power inlet which he did install, then start my generator and turn on only the existing breakers which the generator (mine is 4500 watt) could handle. This excluded things such as my range, A/C and water heater (those double breakers) but we had lights, TV, fridge, internet and fans so the last power outage went with no issues.Bottom line, and I will say that my solution probably isn't for every application, check with an electrician first and you may avoid additional expense and labor.

The kit was comprehensive, contained almost every needed item for installation. Delivery time was long, and packaging did not protect housing from damage in shipping. Instructions, and documentation are complete and more than adequate if you have experience reading schematics, and wiring electrical panels. Nice for the price.

No operational Instructions and no clear wiring schematics they are poor, photos are not clear need to be in - larged.Found wires inside not marked! or terminated!Finally finished! and not sure ready to power up using the generator there are no start up check list protocols.Hire an electrician its safer!

We had to go over each connection and found some that were loose. When all were tightened up, the unit worked.

Looks good. Wiring included was enough to run wires from transfer switches to the breakers. Wires were cleanly labeled.There was a schematic included which was helpfulMy unit arrived damaged but was able to work around issues. One meter doesn’t work. Breakers feel cheap. The position for the switches are not labeled on the panel for which position is Line power and which is generator power.Overall if you are comfortable with moving lines in the panel, install should be straight forward. Considering the price for what it is, I would likely recommend it for a budget-minded person
