Notice:
- Just lightly holding the sandpaper to the wood and rubbing back and forth is enough pressure for the sandpaper to work.
- Wear goggles and heavy-duty work gloves during set up. Store indoors out of children's reach.
- Keep in mind that a grinder probably spins around 2 times as fast as a sander / polisher, so take it slow with both hands.

This is a good adapter to turn your grinder into a sander of sorts. Really, anything that uses a hook and loop backing. But because I grinder isn't a random orbit, it's still closer to behaving like a grinder than a sander. It's a little light, so don't expect to sue it for heavy duty grinding/sanding. A pad is included, but to me, that's more useful for sanding with a sander than with a grinder for the same reasons, but at least they include it. The discs I tried attached just fine and stayed on. The bottom line is that I like to maximize the use of my power tools with adapters because you never know. It's a good one that, while I don't think I'll use it all the time, it does perform as expected, and I'm glad I have it.

For the price its not too bad. But it is a bit cheap and flimsyNot bad for a handful of uses on this budget pad plate. If you are expecting industrial strength or good craftsmanship, look somewere else.

This product is great for corrosion removal, paint stripping, sanding and polishing prep using an angle grinder with a variable speed or low speed setting. My Milwaukee angle grinder has a 3500 RPM setting and that’s what worked best for me when I tested these pads. The product comes with the hook and loop backed hard pad, which is attached to the grinder using the standard 5/8-11 thread. Also included is a soft hook and loop pad that attaches to the hard pad if you want to use it. In my testing, I preferred using the soft pad attachment because it allowed me to apply good pressure to the tool while leaving a feathered pattern that was easier to remove at higher grits then finally buff to a mirror shine. Great product.

I use this for non woven 3m pads to perfect welds after flap disc grinding.The company I work for started making sheet steel covers for the machines we manufacture.. In the past they had them made by another company.. I've been the person who's been finishing the welds being I had the most experience..I have tried to get them to purchase specific tools for this but they have a hard time realizing the difference between grinding and finishing. They want perfection.... and want perfection fast.. they don't want to spend the $ on the air tool and belts which would allow for this.. This grinder attachment has allowed me to get these welds perfect using 3m hook and loop non woven light grinding pads after a full grind with a flap disc.. Since using this attachment the quality difference in the finished product is undeniable. (Bad for me because they see it's possible to have perfection without the $1200 tool).The attachment is light.. Its evenly balanced so there's no wobble. This tool is definitely going to be considered a consumable. The soft pad it came with is a bit ripped up already from hitting a sharp edge on an inside corner. The main hook and loop portion wasn't effected.. I'd say after a year of industrial use or atleast how I'm using it it'll need to be replaced... The company I work for is making $5million machines. In a year this tool will smooth out welds on 50-100milion worth of finished steel.
