It's good the have a battery internal resistance meter around. test the battery when its charged and new and keep a record and testing the res will give you all you need for the rest of the batteries life. The price is great. Resistance tables are available on line. no need for 100 amp load tests or having arcking internally and exploding. after a good resistance test 100 amp load test will be safer. Be warned wear a face shield. batteries do explode once in a while.

An apparent quality design that unfortunately I'm unable to figure out how best to take advantage of. I've read and checked YouTube trying to understand how the device will help me characterize individual 18650 and other cell types, no joy. I failed when trying to work with four wire/Kelvin clips and a single cell of any type. Now using battery holders, wired for accessory use. The clips work, but I continue to receive inconsistent readings. That's probably not unusual when dealing with minute resistances, dunno...

The HRM-10 is very well built. The screen is easy to read and the buttons are big. I can only give this 3 stars though. The manual does not tell you how to use the tester or what this is used for. It does say this is for car battery. It does not come with any household battery holder. This makes clamping to the button top battery very hard. It is even harder to use for flat top battery. This is what the HRM-10 is used for. First thing first. This does not test battery. It will not tell you if the battery can hold a charge or not. You will need a battery load tester for that. The HRM-10 does not load-test your battery. The HRM-10 is a battery sorter. It is used to help you group batteries together. Let say you are making your battery pack. You do want to put similar spec'ed batteries together. You use the HRM-10 to sort them out into the same groups. To use the HRM-10, you have to open the clips so the leads are not touching directly to each others. This direction is in the manual. So, if you see people just pressing the clips to the battery, they are doing this wrong. It will not give them the correct reading. They have a reference chart. But the chart does not look like it is for household battery. They also do not tell you how to read the chart either.Hope this help.

I had mixed feelings on this tester, but ultimately gave it 5 stars because the basic measurement function works very well, and it feels like a quality product. Even the box it came in was very nice - see pic. The probes are good, with teeth that bite nicely into the battery contacts. Confusingly, when I first turned it on I got a 20 (or so) second count-down filling the screen after which it turned off, however after charging it overnight it worked fine, so apparently that was a low-battery alert.I measured several batteries. An old motorcycle battery that I had replaced showed very high internal resistance (30 ohms) - see pic. Both my cars' batteries (which are fine) measured about 5 mohm. I measured a few low-resistance resistors I had and it seemed to work very well there also. I do not have the capability to test how accurate the voltage and resistance measurements actually are, but you get lots of digits and all measurements seemed reasonable. So far a 5-star product. What I was not so pleased with was the logging and data exporting capability - which are poorly described in the instruction manual. Apparently you can set up to 8 voltage/resistance criteria, then select one and measure a battery. If the measurement fails to meet the criteria the data gets logged. Data meeting the criteria is apparently not logged. I think you log a measurement by pushing the ok button at which time an H (History?) appears on the screen (not really sure about this). The whole process of setting the limits is a bit confusing, but I struggled through it ( in some cases the up arrow makes the limit go down and vice versa). A challenge to exporting data is that the connector seems to be located too far into the case, so I had to physically push (hard) to hold the USB-C cable in while the data downloaded. The device showed up as a folder with data and was easy to save to my laptop. Only the failures are exported - see pic. Every time I turned the unit on I had to reset the data/time. I could go on further about the data logging and my confusion, but all I really wanted was a meter (not logging capability) and that part works nicely, so I stuck with the 5-star rating.
