Very easy to install and worked immediately with my 2022 Mazda CX-5 2.5S Premium Plus. Great for navigation and the traffic sign recognition in the heads-up display.

I wanted a map pack for my car, just in case I'm in a place with poor cell service. I use Car play for navigation, but this is my backup. What you get is an SD card in a small clamshell. The SD card will need to be inserted into the car. For my CX-5, the slot is in the center armrest. There is a small plastic cover that needs to be flipped open. In the picture i am holding the cover open with my finger. With the cover flipped open you will see the slot. It can only go in one way. I pushed it in and turned the car on, it didn't seem to register it, or at least it knew there was a card there, but it didn't load up right away. I tried to turn my car off and back on again but it didn't seem to work. I shrugged it off, assumed it was a loss and did my commute. When i got in my car for my commute home it worked. There must be some kind of activation going on when i first installed it. The graphics are just OK, and sometimes it stops moving and then updates in a few seconds which I assume is a feature of the Mazda mapping system or sat connectivity and not the SD card itself. It works on my 2023 cx-5, not that ill be using it much but im glad i have it just in case.

Its fine, but kinda pointless in 2025. With these cars being equipped with Android Auto/ Car Play....You can get up to date and a better experience with your choice of navigation app. I suppose it may come handy in the rare case where you need Nav without a cell signal, but realistically not a common thing. But it does work. Simply remove a rubber stopper on the SD card reader underneath the center arm rest and insert. I needed to the the car ON/OFF again to get it to work. No other apps or functions are seeming on the card. To think, that the dealership will charge you an arm and a leg just for an SD card insertion. Rip off. And a blatant one at that.

Having purchased a used CX-5 (2023 model) recently, I was annoyed that the default navigation card was not included when I had expected it to be. Fortunately, this was available as an inexpensive option. It arrived in a small pack with no instructions, but the product page mentions this possibly needing to be installed with the car off, then may take up to 24 hours to update. No issues there! Plugged it in the empty slot in the console, started up the car, it recognized and loaded the card, and suddenly my car ended up with a lot more functionality!Onboard navigation is all well and good, but personally I prefer Android Auto which I already had set up...being able to verbally give navigation instructions is beneficial for me most of the time vs. the little dial interface in the Mazda...but that's not this product's fault, it's just a different option.Other benefits were suddenly having speed limits displayed on the HUD that my car has, and for what it's worth, recognition of street signs (it seems to spot stop signs right about the time I'm already stopped, so not convinced on THAT utility yet). But overall, being able to add the additional functionality of navigation and unlocking other features without the exorbitant pricing of the OEM version has been great!

If you're like me and find it ridiculous to pay $400-$500 for a SD map card from the dealership, this is a great alternative. The only minor drawback for me was the fact that it didn't show businesses that were started within 2 years from today's date. This tells me that the business info in the map data has to be a few years old, which is totally fine with me. I'd rather have that minor inconvenience in exchange for the $400 savings (again, totally insane that dealerships charge $500 dollars for a simple map card). It finds all the gas stations, shopping centers, retail stores, etc that I've put in, as long as they've been around for at least two years or more. The streets and highway info is very accurate. I'm perfectly happy with this map software.
