Overload Protection

One thing that I like is that there are a lot of functions, volt amps, power factor, current power used in watts or KW,you can put in the price per kilowatt you pay and it’ll calculate keep running total. But… There are some confusing parts of this too, some that don’t make a lot of sense to me Such as you have a clock that runs when power is being consumed through that meter. And that’s great and it’s a 24 hour clock. In another place it’ll tell you a day so after you run it for 24 hours you go to that screen and you see one day. So is that day one or one completed day so when you look at the hour meter and it says four hours move over a screen or two and you see day one, the first day or is it that it’s one completed day and the hour meter at 12 hours means not one day but one and a half days. Very confusing but that’s what it tries to do and that’s a good thing. It seems somewhat accurate, I have a relatively fixed load on itn hour by hour. It seems to be consistent. The last thing I have to comment on that the directions included with it absolutely suck. They are better than nothing but probably not bu a lot. A little effort and it’s decipherable just little things like the confusion in setting the price per kilowatt. Oh my God, labels on the buttons do not coincide with logic or the book. Well maybe they do somewhat coincide with the book.What I recommend this… Absolutely, yes, you just have to wade through it, but I do highly recommend it

Seems accurate. Easy to read. Lacks display of elapsed time, only shows cumulative time (time device connected is actually running). Instructions provided are poor.

I bought my first watt meter about 25 years ago. I wanted to find out which devices I should switch off with power strips. I found that some used as much power off as on, and putting my computer to sleep didn’t reduce power consumption.I began using it to monitor a car battery charger and an e-bike battery charger, neither of which had an ammeter. Between chargers and other uses, I was fetching the meter so often that I bought another, like this:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DPJ3RGBThe display was so dark that I often needed a flashlight. Resetting the kwh to zero required a toothpick. It read in tenths of a watt but could read zero if the power was below 2.0. watt. That was inadequate to be sure a battery management system wasn’t still equalizing cells in an e-bike battery.The other day I bought this watt meter. It’s by far the best. It came with instructions to press 6 button combinations to change settings. I was sure to lose the paper, and how would I remember? The solution was easy: copy the instructions to a computer file. In the future, I probably won't need any combination except to set the data to zero, and that's easyThe second annoyance was having to cycle through 8 displays and recognize the one I needed. Experience made it easy.I set the panel light to stay on. Either way, the meter uses about 0.4 watt, a penny a week, if left plugged in. The light lets me read the display from several feet away, day or night. It shows consumed power down to the watt hour. It shows power down to 0.1 watt. (The clock doesn’t advance below 0.5 watt; that way, it shows how much time a device like a refrigerator actually ran.)The other day, a pan of water fell onto a padded carpet. I used a carpet machine to pick up what water I could. I'd have to run a fan until an infrared thermometer showed that evaporation had ceased. My new watt meter kept track of the time, which turned out to be 26 hours. The panel was bright enough to serve as a night light so I wouldn't trip on the fan cord.It’s such an improvement that I bought a second. I keep them plugged in. That makes them easy to find, and they serve as night lights. When I walk past, I can see how the power company's voltage changes from hour to hour.I've retired the meters I've used for years.
