Used one for the deep freeze north Texas received this week. Put the plastic cover over a newly emerged peony (3†tall) then wrapped some felt over that and it was fine. You need to have anchors or pins (there are 4 holes on bottom rim) or else bury the bottom edge under soil or it could blow over in high winds. They are fairly thin plastic - curious to see how well they hold up this spring. It would also to protect small plants/seedling from heavy rain/hail

After my garden fencing was destroyed by a huge falling tree, using cloches in my garden has become even more important in order to stop deer, rabbits, and especially the groundhog from eating my entire crop. When I saw this set of thirty cloches (see photo), I rushed to get it.These cloches are light green, which enables sunlight to penetrate, allowing my plants to continue growing. They also have small holes at the top that allows water to get to the plants. The plastic cloches are extraordinarily thin, but they fulfill their purpose perfectly and can be reused over time. This product also came with round tabs (see photo) to anchor the cloches to the ground, but has no landscape staples included, so if you purchase this item you’re definitely going to need to order those separately. I’ve received similar round tabs for use with landscape fabric and didn’t use them, but with these cloches, I think that they’re absolutely necessary given the thinness of the plastic; the tabs will ensure that one can remove the cloches for later use without tearing them.Overall, this is a nice product. I only wish that the cloches were a bit thicker and came with their own landscape staples.

This product should give us a few weeks earlier start in the garden for our cool weather (and some warm weather) plants. We're just now starting seedlings indoors but look forward to starting our garden a few weeks earlier. We have quite the insect load during warmer months so we'll have all of our susceptible plants out just that much earlier to give them a great head start on growing.Packaged arrived well-packed and was a great value for the price. We'll add just a few stakes in the predrilled cloche holes to protect them from any winds that might pick them up and move them. They also look sturdy enough to be able to last several seasons.I highly recommend this product if you're looking to add a few extra weeks on to your gardening season.

The cloches are made from PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) rather than the more typical PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) plastic. PET, which is often used in soda bottles and food packaging, is food safe and easily recyclable. PVC is used more often in construction materials and piping, is less recyclable and releases hazardous chlorine gas when incinerated. I think this gives PET a clear advantage for this application. These plastic cloches are very thin, at around 8 thousandths of an inch. They are lightweight, and deflect easily when you try to pick one up. I find the feel comparable to disposable plastic packaging. However, the ribbing provides a surprising degree of structural strength. The cloches nest nicely and come apart easily due to the material’s inherently low coefficient of friction. The material is also chemical and moisture resistant. The cloches have a light green tint. There is four larger vent holes at the narrow end and a small center hole which accommodates the axle of a rotary vent. The wide end has an outer flange diameter of over 8-inches, but the maximum inner diameter is about 6.5- inches. There are four small equally spaced holes in the outer flange that can be used to help hold in place if placing soil on the rim is insufficient.Everything is covered in snow right now, so I will have to wait until spring to truly test them out, but I expect them to me very effective little greenhouses, gathering warmth from the sun and reducing moisture loss. With care, I believe that these will last several seasons giving new plants an early start and provide and providing a measure of protection from an unexpected cold snap, allowing plants to safely go in the ground a little earlier in the season.

Great Value for this set of 30 garden clothes! I live in a colder area but am always wanting to plant as early as I can. Having these garden cloche covers gives me just a bit more of a chance to let those early seedlings survive a frost. The plastic is not super thick and there is the opportunity for the plants to breathe because of the opening at the top of the cones. I think they look nice and uniform on my raised beds in my garden.

I've been propagating roses for years, and these UQM garden cloches have quickly become my go-to tool. The rotary vent cover is a game-changer for controlling humidity and airflow for each cutting. I can fine-tune the environment without disturbing the delicate plants, which has significantly improved my success rate. The protection these cloches offer from pests is impressive. Last week, I watched a curious bird try to peck at my new cuttings, only to be thwarted by these sturdy barriers. It's reassuring to know my plants are safe while they establish their roots. The clear design also lets me keep an eye on progress without lifting the cover. While these cloches are fantastic for my rose propagation, they might be overkill for casual gardeners with just a few plants. However, for me, the ability to rearrange them easily and manage 30 cuttings individually is worth every penny. I've even started using them for other delicate plants in my garden - they're that versatile.
