It'll take one adapter for the hose fittings that's not included, but otherwise, it works as advertised. The key for me was the fine mesh net so the smallest debris doesn't pass through and clog up the filter. Easy to disassemble and clean. Letting it dry out after use and storing it out of the sun will help it last longer. I've used it twice in about three months and it still looks new. I would buy this again.Update: 9/8/22 (after 4 months) - I've used the canister 3 times in the 4 months I've had it and it has worked fine until the 3rd time. I had a little more debris than normal and after about 5 minutes, the canister imploded, and developed 2 vertical cracks along the canister body and 2 stress areas. Since the product has a 1 year warranty, I submitted the warranty claim on line and contacted TCP Global customer service ( agent for US Pool Supply products) the next day. I was overwhelmed with the positive response I got. The representative verified my purchase information and said they would be sending out a whole new unit, not just a replacement canister. I received the replacement unit 2 days after contacting TCP Global in a box marked "Rush". Just amazing, what great customer service. I can unquestionably give a 5 star recommendation for products sold by TCP Global/US Pool Supply. I still give the canister 4.5 stars. It works, but the plastic canister could be a little stronger. My thought about why the fractures occurred in the first place is that there probably was too much negative pressure from the debris in the silt bag. If you are picking up a lot of fine sand or silt, you should empty the bag several times during a cleaning session.

Great product design - no replaceable parts such as rubber gasket or net (as it's optional). The 1yr warranty and reasonable price sold me on the product, at least enough to try it.Out of the box, the item worked perfectly and I've been very happy with the purchase. I did have an issue after only two months where the cylinder cracked. While disappointed, I was VERY PLEASED with the outcome... once brought to the attention of the manufacturer (TCP Global), they gladly replaced it, no hassles, no charge.Overall, I'm happy with this product and would highly recommend it. Will definitely purchase again as needed in the future given this positive experience.

This leaf basket is a good deal and seems to work fine. I've had mine for about a year. The biggest downside is that it turns cloudy after a few months of use has shown in the picture, so you can no longer see the inside to find out if it's full of leaves or not.

Works well until it breaks in under a year. We've bought it twice. This last one lasted 7 months before it shattered. The one before lasted 11 months and shattered. The plastic is too thin and cheap.

Did the job for me, it's XL size vs others, I dont need to clean it as often. My failed after a year, i am in Florida, it's hot and i keep it in the pool pretty much all year round. The canister still intact but the rubber gasket on the top failed. If i were to find replacement rubber gasket i think it could still last me for another year, overall happy with it.

This saves so much hassle when vacuuming leaves out of my pool. I ordered it to open my pool this year as an illness had prevented me closing it properly and we had a LOT of leaves in it. It’s easy to hook up and works fantastic. Even when the baskets full it still has a lot of suction. It’s easy to unhook and empty even as your going. This saved me this year and I happily now have a crystal clear pool.

I had the old version of the US Pool Supply leaf canister and had planned to come here and write a glowing 5-star review with how much better this one works, then the canister cracked under pressure.The good: This is the best inline filter I've used, period.- The option for both fine (mesh bag) and course (basket) filtration is perfect.- The basket does great for larger debris, keeping suction high but protecting your pump and pipes.- The separate cap and retainer makes it much easier to remove the top when the filter is full.- Having the o-ring outside the basket/bag prevents the seal from getting damaged with debris.- The design maintains suction even as the basket gets to full which exceeds my expectations.- Adding the bag does even better at filtering at the cost of some suction as the bag fills up.The bad: The plastic isn't thick enough to withstand significant suction.- I have the previous version with bag-only, but it was made of much thicker and better reinforced plastic.- I didn't even think of it, but I was only able to connect the canister to my existing hose because I had a male-to-male adapter from the old version of this product. If I hadn't had that on hand, I wouldn't have been able to use the canister.- If you catch any sudden clog or blocker, the case will crack under pressure. I used it for 3-4 runs through leaves and debris as I opened my pool without issue, but when I hit something significant it cracked significantly (see picture). Imagine your vacuum exploding when you actually suction up your curtain in the end.If this canister was just a little bit stronger I'd be singing it's praises. I will update if I can get it replaced under warranty, but given others experiences I'm not holding my breath.

I was in two minds whether to get this or not as it costs more than I was really prepared to pay, but I couldn't find a decent alternative. It took a while to arrive in the UK, but I'm very pleased with it. The whole thing seems well made and it worked straight away with little fuss. I needed an extra length of hose to connect it to the skimmer, but once that was done I could use this.After some building work we had a lot of grit in the pool, and this saved me having to allow it to go into the filter. I also used it to lift the leaves in the water which saved netting them out before I could vac it. So, I'm pleased I got this canister, and I'll probably use it everytime I have leaves in the pool when cleaning day comes around.

I wish I knew about this years ago. We have a large inground pool. We have cedar trees all around our yard and have a hard time removing the pine needles in our pool. They would always block our pump. We attach it to our pool cleaner hoses and all of the needles, sand and other debris get trapped in. This saves time and our pool pump from being damaged.

I love love this product, it has saved me so much time and effort I have it just before the skimmer on the vacuum line. I use it with the kripy crawler and the hand vacuum. I can see when the leaves and other have filled the basket and do not have to keep going to the pump house to shut off the pump to empty the basket.even when the basket is full the water can still get around and doesn't slow down the filter.amazing product. wish I had purchased it many years ago

Hook this up to our pool vacuum and vacuum and it instantly started filtering started filtering all of the debris so it wouldn't go through and wreck the pump. Best purchase we made.
