Installed it in my 05 ford explorer which is am independent rear suspension, couldn't find much saying if it would fit or not but it does and it's been working for around 5k miles now including 2 wheeling trips to the Ozarks. It might be a little louder than a straight axle but it locks and unlocks

I have run lock right drop in lockers in the front and the rear of 4 wheel drives before and they worked much smoother and with less feeling of "Did that just break something?". So far it has worked fine but I don't know if I would use another one of these.

I had a shop install this into a 1999 4x2 F150 long bed.Be prepared to replace your wheel bearings as well (since the axles will be out).I also did my drum brakes at the same time.We went with one grade thicker lube for the differential and made sure to fill it all the way up.Wait for the lube to settle before putting the plug in, as you want as much 90W oil in there as you can.After 2K mile, it has really quieted down. First day, there was a few "pops". After a week it was just ratcheting we were hearing. Now we barely notice it (but its there if you listen for it).Mechanic I took it to told me to swing by in 3-4 months to pull the cover/plugs and change out the lube to make sure its not missing teeth or seeing any binding. You don't want metal particles in your gear lube.It is a little harder on rear tires, so expect to rotate every 10K and change those out 45K miles for sure.

Very good quality. It took a little less than 3hrs to install start to finish. C clip installation was a little bit tricky, but easy enough to figure out. You can definitely hear the clicking of the locker at extremely slow speeds, but under normal driving, it is barely noticeable or not noticeable at all. It works perfectly.
