My son's charger that came with his school laptop became unreliable. It word occasionally charge but then it stopped charging the laptop completely.I found this as a replacement. It is reasonably priced as a charger, and worked great...until a few weeks later and the ENTIRE C-type fitting came off. It came of cleanly as well, no hanging wires or other materials attached to the C-type metal tab.I ordered a replacement and was sent another. Withing less than 2 weeks, the same defect presented itself.I don't know why this charger, a C-type that our entire family of 6 is familiar with, is manufactured with such a flaw.The durability is awful. Compatibility is perfect. Reliability is non existent.I would not recommend anyone to purchase this charger if reliability is important.

I bought this charger for my son and it broke in less than 90 days. The usb separated from the charger. It did get unusually hot as well. If you are unplugging a lot, you may want to reconsider. Other than that, it worked fine.

I realize that some items are defective, but this was a very expensive mistake! This power supply got so hot it destroyed two Lenovo Thinkpads. I didn't realize it was the culprit when it burned up the first, and foolishly then plugged it into the second. This thing is likely dangerous. The plug is hot enough to burn your skin. I believe it may have worked initially, but failed quickly.
