How can I do when the microphone cannot be used?
Few ways for troubleshooting:
- A. You need to disable the computer's onboard mic by accessing your sound devices in the hardware section of the control panel. And choose the mic (JV-801)
- B. Check whether the "mic mute" of the online control is open or not. When the "mic mute" is open, the light will turn to red.
- C. Please don't connect the microphone to an extension adapter(includes USB hub), or it will weaken the signal sent from devices. The cable length of the headset is 6 (1.8m), long enough for daily use.

Well I bought the JV801 and installed it. Truly 100% plug and play. Speaker was excellent. Microphone was great.Then I hit the problem so many people encounter but found a solution.As usual the User Guide was not written by someone that speaks English natively. Typos and statements that contradict themselves using double negatives. Ignore it. The book says the green light is on solid during power up then flashes. Never happens. Mine is solid green all the time. No problem.The MUTE button does not work like hundreds of other reviews call out. There is no way to turn the speaker off since that button does not work either.Until the "magic" is discovered. I as most, 'press' the button. Some reviews say 'press hard'. Neither will work.HOWEVER, "TAP" the button, it will work fine. Same issue with the speaker on and off. Press does nothing but bruise your finger yet TAP it and works like a charm. I was ready to send it back until I discovered this. Try it, you will like it !

Bought this unit to replace my headset for Zoom calls for work. Plugged it in, computer recognized it, one click to accept, off and running.Love the mute button on the unit, makes it easy to mute or unmute yourself while on zoom. Also has a speaker mute in case you get a regular phone call during a zoom and you need to silence the zoom call.I did add some felt pads on the bottom because it would vibrate with some voices and cause a weird distortion of the sound. The felt pads added a bit more cushion vs the standard rubber feet and solved the problem.Great product, might need to hit the dollar store for felt pads, but otherwise hight recommend.

I have no issues with function and operation, it works fine. I prefer working in a dark room, and I cannot see the touch buttons. I don't have meetings every day, so I don't always remember the button layout. As shown in the picture, I used white out to highlight the volume+ button, so I have a point of reference. If not for that, I would give it a 5 for sure.

At first the sound quality was very clear and worked well for me at work. I'm on the phone all day so I wanted a hands free/headset free way to talk, and this seemed like a good option. A few months on now, though, I'm noticing the sound quality isn't as clear and voices sound a bit muffled in comparison. I'm still using it everyday and will continue to do so until the thing quits working completely. So overall, it's a decent pick if you're looking for an inexpensive speakerphone option!

The microphone is in the front and picks up sound just fine. The best feature is the speaker cut button. It allows me to cut off my rambling co-workers and just talk over them if I need to break in. :)I'm picking up 2 spares in case this model stops being produced. I have both the JV801 and JV801 Pro. I like the JV801 Pro better as the controls are easier to see, and the light up ring around the outside of the speaker lights up clearly with the status (muted and speaker volume).

FURTHER UPDATED: Stopped working. Lights up like it's getting power. No sound. No microphone function. No support. No instructions on website. Maybe it's user error, but it worked before this week, and if I can't figure it out then it's still useless to me all the same. Don't bother with this one. Other products couldn't be worse, right?UPDATED: I have removed a star because this device must be unplugged/plugged in each and every time the computer goes to sleep or powers back up. If there is a solution to making it function without doing that, I don't know what it is because there are no tips or troubleshooting instructions to be found anywhere. They definitely don't respond to emails.It's a low cost solution... What are you gonna do? It's fine. Nothing to get excited about.PREVIOUSE REVIEW:Nice combo of value and function.

Internal speakers on the laptop weren't loud enough so I got this thing. I LOVE it because you can MUTE the microphone &/or adjust volume without others on video/audio calls knowing. The volume is clear and loud - can be heard from another room (if there's no other competing audio). I've been told that the 'pickup' on the microphone is VERY clear.

My laptop speaker doesn't work and the mic sounds a tad muffled, so I purchased this. It comes with a USB that connects the speaker automatically to the laptop which also serves the dual purpose of powering the speaker so that you don't require an outlet. My voice sounds crisp in recordings, so I am confident that I am being heard clearly in meetings. You tap the symbols to mute the mic or sound, and the volume buttons control the laptop volume. The speaker is fairly loud and the sound quality is great. I am very happy with the speaker. Great value for the price.

Perfect for small group hybrid board meetings with video conferencing combined with in person facility with internet but no landlines. When placed in the center of the group of 8 people who are socially distanced for COVID-19, the voices were heard by those on-line, plus, those in attendance could easily hear the remote participants. The USB for the speaker connected easily with a laptop (Windows 10 and Teams and Zoom) and cable is good length and quality.

Only thing that could have been better for our purpose would have been to have chosen a wireless speaker/mike. The cord is a bit of a pain going across the desk. But, that doesn't detract that it works well and is an easy plug and play item.

I wouldn't recommend it.There is an echo on calls that makes this unusable, seems cheaply made for a conference microphone as the echo is unbearable for the other side, also colleagues have complained that my voice comes in and out and I am not sitting that far from the speakerphone.
