I bought a desktop for my daughter a couple years back and it came with a usb WiFi adapter and the software stopped being compatible when I upgraded my modem/router. I ordered this to see if this would fix my problem if the desktop computer not connecting to the WiFi and it immediately fixed my issue once I completed the download installation software, which prompts you every step of the way. It was quick and simple. Literally just unplug the old and plug in the new….

The USB part kept receding back into the case, so I had to try to glue it into place.Then, one of the antennas fell off, and then the signal went to about a 3rd of its former strength.So now, it is history, as I ended up ordering a different wireless altogether, which works much better than this one ever did.

This adapter has an easy self-install mode and even on a USB 2.0 connection, it has an equivalent speed to an internal WiFi 6 PCIe adapter. It is a good low cost backup method when a wired ethernet cable fails and when a PCIe adapter unplugs and no longer shows up on the device manager.
