Need something to monitor and test charging cables but no need for all the bells and whistles. It does what it's designed. It does come with an English instruction manual . It should be noted that USB-C is for C only, A is for A output. Took me a second to realize that. I don't think the memories are necessary. Measuring energy (Wh) is useful but I prefer just power measurement (W). Overall, I do recommend this product.

While this voltmeter gives me readings for volts and amps, but not watts, a simple math calculation will give me the watts. I've checked the UNI-T readings against my very accurate, dedicated USB-C voltmeter and the the readings are within a couple of hundredths of an amp and volt of each other. I consider this as a confirmation that the UNI-T unit is correctly calibrated. Having the ability to take readings from USB-A and USB-C platforms is a definitely a plus for this unit. I've used it to test all of my wall chargers and both of my solar panels. My solar panels are goood-to-go, but a couple of my wall chargers have gone the way of the dinosaurs. May they rest in peace.Overall, I'm very happy with this voltmeter and look forward to many years of use. Buy with confidence.

This is PERFECT for monitoring the USB port output on solar panels. The problem with other meters is they plug directly into the port... whereas this one gives some cord to be able to turn meter and read the display (vs. having to stick your head under the panel and try seeing the meter, if you even can). Also, the readout is perfect for reading in sunlight... some of these meters have small fonts and use OLED and other technologies that are near impossible to see in the sun. I'm ordering one or two more today so I can just leave them plugged into my solar panel USB ports. That's another benefit - not plugging and unplugging something from the ports on the panel, which could break over time. I'd rather break this $20 device than a $200+ solar panel.

...because all the writing on the packaging, and the instruction manual, are in Chinese. Fortunately a Google search on "UT658 Dual manual" quickly found a single sheet instruction manual in PDF format.

Pretty straightforward on how to use it, really appreciate the fact that has two leads going into it and two ports going out for multiple options from usb A and usb C

Bought one, no current reading, always zero, returned and got another, same thing. Lack of quality control and testing... there must be one in the universe that works (the one in the picture) but the 2 I bought did not.

Dual connection UT658D is the best option for optional test configurations. Since voltage "input" is adjustable in typical setup mode key; I am now pondering if it could also be used in a short detection if there was a current limiter as it has current over limit protection 3a DC using type "A" in/outputs, and 5.0a DC on type "C" input/outputs. Current limiter adjusted to 1.0 amp and thermal camera you have a ready to use power supply which might be perfect for short detection! The "Load device" Tester model # UT658L (LOAD) would be ideal for short detection....due to constant current control; however it does not support low voltage 4.0v mode / fast charge selection protocol.Manual is helpful but lacking descriptive visual reference of probable expected data reference chart to aid in identifying faults since current is dependent on battery condition and power port failure. I decided to store 5 common working confirmed charge rates and noted respective mA readings at startup, and 90% to get an understanding of the probable current output full charged.

Having short cables for the input to this power meter makes a huge difference in usability. In the past I have used meters which plug directly into the USB power supply "block" .. which can only be read if the "block" is oriented to make it visible. The short input cables make it easy to view the meter regardless of where / how the "block" is located. I would have liked a bit more detail on the instructions but the use is pretty much self explanatory if you have used any power meters in the past.

This Type C and Type A power meter has a very useful form factor. Most are large and do not have a wire coming out of them, so it is difficult to fit into tight places. The usb passthrough is very helpful for seeing the power draw of devices like external hard drives. Really helps to know how much a raspberry pi can handle.

Le manuel est seulement en chinois, mais regarder des vidéos sur youtube et vous comprendrez rapidement ce qu'on peux faire avec...
