Tapered Roller Bearings
- Tapered roller bearings are separable into a cone assembly and a cup.
- They are designed to accommodate combined loads, i.e. simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.
- Use for high-load, moderate-speed applications that include automotive axle systems and conveyor systems.
(The non-separable cone assembly consists of the inner ring, the rollers, and a cage that retains & evenly spaces the rollers. The cup is simply the outer ring.)

Purchased for a friend's '76 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevy. He's broke and these were inexpensive. Given the price point I have to wonder how long they'll hold up. I was not able to detect much about the quality from handling them - they're bearings, they worked.Wheel bearings are kind of important so if your budget allows I'd spend more on a name brand, but when funds are short or the vehicle isn't traveling far it's nice to have options like this.

So I bought 2 of these bearings (368A/362A bearing and cup) for a home made lathe. 1 bearing looks good and runs very smooth. The other bearing also runs well but the bearing cup it came with looks like it got sent out before it was ground properly on the inner diameter. Plus the Outter diameter of the bearing cup is 3.542" instead of the 3.500" as advertised. You can see in the pictures the difference in surface finishes of the finished bearing vs the unfinished one. So 5 stars for the one that works good. 1 star for the unfinished one. Average 3 stars overall.
