Purchased this to replace damaged thrust bearing on OTC Stinger Series 4351 Harmonic Balancer Puller and Installer Set. Perfect size match and much cheaper than a new 4531-13 Puller Flange.

I have a South Bend 9A 1961 model lathe.It came with the fiber thrust washer. This is a great long lasting method to make a lathe, but end free play is sometimes an issue. So I decided to change it to a bearing instead.I initially ordered what the people on some forums claimed would fit, but it did not. Lesson learned, just measure yourself. I don't know if there are size differences but for my spindle this is the correct thrust bearing.I retained the use of the fiber washer and just added this one too. It fits and allows me to preload the bearing a little easier. The result eliminated free play in the spindle. I get good clean cuts when facing with the lathe without having to adjust the free play first. If you don't want the hassle of having to adjust the free play regularly for facing operations, this is an easy cheap upgrade. Comes with a spare bearing for when it wears out.Best of all, you can revert back to just the fiber washer anytime as a backup so long as you leave it on when installing. No chance of losing it that way.

These came in packaged individually and lubed for shelf-life. For my project, they were the perfect fit and are very smooth. Overall, very nice bearings.

I found a pressure washer with a buggered pump. Turns out the previous owner didn't reassemble the pump correctly when replacing the oil so the bearings failed. These were a perfect match and now we are back up and moving!
