These 7-segment displays seem to be just what I needed to build a silent clock that only displays the time But is dark until a top mounted momentary switch button is pushed then these displays are lighted No alarms included. When I’ve finished making this clock I’ll edit this review and include some pictures.

These nice LED displays were clearly marked for hooking them up to GPIO ports or shift registers. And in the end, the Raspberry Pi 3B+ controlled the displays using simple Python code. My students enjoyed the LED display projects and the displays worked great, as advertised.

Arrives in a cardboard box with NO padding under the pins resulting in many of the pins being bent. Could have been worse -- was able to straighten them out. Other than that, the devices work fine.
