Nicely built and decent software. Driver not signed but that isn't much of an issue for me. Sturdy and fast. I'm using it to write a BIOS on a series 25 BIOS chip. It identified it properly and works well. A must have if you are repairing boards on the chip level. Much faster than the CH341a programmers and no voltage mods necessary!

I had 2 dead motherboards from bad flashes (one old, one recent).The first was a PLCC32 package that I removed with the included extractor and placed into the adapter.The other was a standard 8pin DIP package that I placed directly into the programmer.I had a Win11 Eval VM set up already, I installed the software there and shared the USB with the VM.The Auto detect feature didn't seem to work for the one or two chips I tested but programming worked perfectly when the chip was manually defined.Part numbers for both were listed in software, super fast. I flashed up to date stock bios images on both and after putting them back in the motherboards, I no longer had 2 large paper weights. :DThe clip was tested on the 8-pin SOIC bios rom soldered to a video card, just for fun, no issues.Would recommend.

I struggled with a few things right away. First, it shouldn't be this hard to find software and drivers. The website is half Chinese and half English. Then you get directed to another site that serves the download and of course it tries to sell you Norton in the process. When I finally got the correct zip file it failed to extract. What I found after much confusion is that I don't have the newest version of winzip so I had to download the newest version. Once I got past that the device was pretty straight forward, no issues with drivers and the software prompted for a firmware update immediately, that was painless. I installed this on a Win7 machine.I am not worried about the devices ability to write an eeprom, I already have a 4x4 burner, I need a device that can test IC's. As such, I tested a few IC's, eeproms and microcontrollers that I had sitting around. It self-recognized the eeprom and gave me a recap of it's stats, everything matched. On one of the IC's it gave me two options, one was correct. It did not recognize or list the microcontroller so I guess this doesn't test MC's. Two others were not listed, a Triac driver and optocoupler (same thing?). This device will fill the need to check logic chips but if you need a device that will check other IC's, optocouplers or microcontrollers you might have to build a kit that serves a broader spectrum. Overall build quality is fine. The layout of the box is odd with the chips feeling upside down in the zip socket depending on how you have it positioned. The lights are left/right but the label is the other direction. I have a GQ4X4 and right side up is never confusing.I think the overall look of the TL866 has a more lab/professional appearance. This seems like it's in a plastic box designed for something else.Overall I think it will serve a purpose and will be reliable. I suspect I will end up building a kit that serves a broader set of IC's. If you need an eeprom burner you might as well get one of these, at least it can check some logic chips too as opposed to the 4x4 which can only burn eeproms.

Received in pristine condition and very fast delivery. Followed web instructions and the item worked admirably. No problem reading my old AT89C2051 and programming AT90S2313. Highly recommended for beginners like me.

The unit arrived bundled with all the adapters and is the proper XGecu unit and not one of the fake units being sold.The PLCC extraction tool is a cheap one and doesn't have a spring to keep it open but for the price it's what should be expected and good enough to do the job.Basically thumbs-up.
