The longer belt that connects the brushes lasted about a month, just a few uses before it completely snapped. The prior (original) one lasted several years and was only partially severed. When I took the replacement belt out it felt brittle and not like it did the month before. Might have been a fluke, ordered another.Update: This one lasted a month as well. I may have been putting the belt on wrong w.r.t. the middle pulley. The middle pulley will slide out for easier installation. If you don't hear from me in another month, the new orientation worked.Update 2: This one lasted a month as well. Luckily I had a third on hand and have gotten much quicker with changing them out. It doesn't appear that orientation of the middle pulley is a factor. These belts just suck. Looking at the patterns of failure, these belts appear to be a 2-ply with no reinforcement, judging by how they break. The OEM one I think had reinforcement running through it and I feel that is important to prevent breakage. I figure this third replacement will break next month so I'll go find a different one now.Update 3: Like clockwork this last belt broke after lasting a month. Contacted Hoover and they no longer make OEM belts. I'm left with a $200 piece of junk that eats belts monthly. Ended up buying a commercial carpet cleaner.

Received the item quickly hence the two stars. I bought two kits just to have one as a spare. Unfortunately both of the larger brush belts broke within one hour of use. Comparing this belt to the OEM, this belt is not as thick. I wouldn’t recommend this product.

It's the right size so they got that right but it broke with in 45 minutes of use. I made sure it was properly installed and everything was tight but apparently this is incredibly cheep. Don't waist you money on this belt.

When the product came in, I replaced it on my Hoover Smart wash, and my husband shampooed the living room while I was gone. I came back and started to shampoo the bedroom and I maybe did five strokes, and it stopped working then come to find out it was because the belt had already broke.

I received the belts they look great. As soon as I figure out how to take the parts off to reach the small belt I will give an update.

Assembly was fine, however the belt didn’t last long enough to clean a single stain on the carpet as it broke.

Was very very stiff and then broke within 5-10 minutes.
