I'm going to address some of the negative reviews that almost made me not buy this:One said it's not accurate, and was off by a full shoe size. I suspect the user didn't use it correctly. You're supposed to use it the same way fittings are done in the store: You have to stand on it with your weight on it, to mimic how your foot would fill a shoe. If you just sit on a chair and lift it up near your foot, you're not going to get an accurate reading, and it's going to tell you your foot is a half size or size smaller than it really is. When I sat on my bed and set the sizer up to my foot, it showed I was a size 8 (which is wrong, because I'm a 9 all day, 8.5 if I am okay wearing shoes a little tight). When I set it on the floor and stood on it, like shoe strre staff have you do when they professionally measure your feet, it showed I was a 9. Same results as to my husband and toddler: showed a smaller/inaccurate size when set up against their feet vs. having them stand on it. So, it is accurate, if you use it right.Others talked about how this was cheap quality, the slider moved too easily, etc. It is $7, including shipping. What do you expect? If you want shoe store quality sizer, buy a metal Brannock brand one, at a cost of $75+. For occasional home use (in my case, using to measure my toddler for shoes every few months, so I don't have to go to the expensive shoe store to have it done and then feel obligated to buy their $60+ shoes), it is a great tool.Yes, the slider moves easily, and doesn't stay in place. Just look at it before you lift your foot off, or have someone else look if you can't bend down that far. Again, this is a $7 item, not a $75+ professional shoe store measuring device, so keep expectations reasonable.

This was a great value and was very easy to use. It’s durable and I use it to measure mine and my kids feet before ordering shoes online. It’s been very accurate so far.

It's been a while since I had my feet measured, and I though this would be something my whole family could use.Likes:Very easy to use. Accurate up to men's size 13. (I used standard shoe size charts referenced to cm and checked every other shoe size and determined that they are accurate. Shoe sizes are not linear in the size jumps.) The measurement is read at the top of the large horizontal bar.Dislikes:According to the charts, the men's sizes 14 and 15 are inaccurate. The label "14" should say "13.5" and the label "15" should say "14".I expected the bottom to be solid plastic. Instead, it is thin plastic with horizontal ribs to increase stability. (I was hoping to add a sticker to the bottom with a chart to show shoe width. I can't do that due to the ribbing.)The bag it comes with is plastic - I expected material.I looked at other foot measurement devices on Amazon and they are all marked with the same error. Interestingly, Brannock devices are marked with even spacing between shoe sizes, which is also wrong.The tape measure provided is similar to the ones you get at the dollar store so don't expect it to last long.Update:I couldn't understand how all the foot measurement devices on Amazon had the same error, so I did some more research. Apparently, there are about a half dozen different ways of measuring shoe size. Some say 31cm is size 14, other say 31cm is size 15. The Brannock device is one of the possible ways of measuring shoe size. Since each manufacturer could us a different way of measuring shoe size, it is impossible to say that you are a particular shoe size. The measurement device only gives you a starting point to determine the right size for you. You will have to try on different shoe sizes to determine the correct size.

This is very light plastic and the slider moves very easily. So you need to make note of the measurement before moving your foot. That said, it does the job. Tried it for myself first to check for accuracy. Purchased to measure sizes for quickly growing grandkids. Very helpful as I shop for holidays, birthdays, etc. so glad I checked before guessing sizes.

I needed one for around the house for both myself and the wife. The accuracy is spot on as I took it with me to the shoe store and compared it's measurement to the fancy one the store had. It's light weight and easy to use.
