Bought this for my daughter, who is member of her high school marching band. Coming from the stock Yamaha mouthpiece she had a small learning curve, but seems to have found her sweet spot. She told me the other day she tried this out with a Vandoren V-21 3.5+ reed and has loved that combo. Before she was using the V-21 3.0 reeds and had good results as well. I'm no music expert, but when she records herself playing a scale on this and her old mouthpiece I do hear a slightly warmer sound, that just seems like it's a little more textured and open. It's not night and day, but enough that my untrained ear hears a difference.

Excellent quality of sound. A noticeable difference between the standard mouthpiece on my daughter's Bb Clarinet. It is larger than her previous mouthpiece and is more comfortable to use. You do need to purchase a ligature to hold the reed as it does not come with one. The old ligature was not a good fit.

I bought it for my boyfriend and he loved it!! He said the sound was awesome and he could play with no effort, he can easily do fortes and pianos now. Great product.

I recently got a Buffet E11 which came with a stock Buffet mouthpiece. The stock mouthpiece worked well at the chalumeau register but i could not find a reed with proper strength to make it play well in the clarion register.My initial impressions with B45 DOT: Indeed, much more free blowing than the stock mouthpiece and much more even across different registers. Highly recommended.

This was the moughtpiece recommended by my son's band teacher. Actually the B45. But when I investigated, the Vandoren web site said the B45 dot had the same tone, but was easier to play. My son has been using it since January and likes it. Shipping was quick, even during December. And the price on Amazon was excellent.

I tried to use this mouthpiece with a professional model Buffet clarinet. I have purchased this type of mouthpiece before and wanted to acquire a spare. This mouthpiece did not come packaged as Vandoren mouthpieces usually are and it was too large to fit into the barrel of my clarinet. I don't think this is a genuine Vandoren product. I complement Amazon for promptly returning my money, but I cannot recommend this mouthpiece. I think you are better off purchasing this product from a music store where you can check the quality before you purchase it.

For my daughter's band class. This is what her teacher recommended everyone to buy. I think it's little expensive to be used by 6th graders. Yamaha's mouth piece is about 3rd (We have Yamaha Clarinet) however there is no complaints besides price.
