I did not get NPT threads on my 2 1/2" Camlock. I'm not a specialist on threads but this did not work with any of the NPT threaded fittings I have. The threads were a lot finer that NPT. Other than that the fitting seemed legit.

Hard to find 1.25 here where I live and even if I did the poly camlocks are three times this price and you get two.. worked perfectly on my water pump.
