It was very easy to put together. It probably took about 15 minutes. Once I got the first three pieces together, there was no more need for the directions. It was a simple assembly. It's perfect for that small space at our entryway. Besides shoe storage, we now have a place to sit to put on/take off our shoes. The hidden storage under the cushion houses our long and short shoe horns, a couple of umbrellas, and shoe covers for those guests that may need to keep their shoes on. ;-)

Having a nearly non-existent entryway, it took me forever to find something that would fit and help reduce shoe clutter. This is so sturdy and useful, and it went together in maybe 15 minutes. Problem solved! The color was accurate and honestly this is way better quality than I was expecting.

The unit I received was remarkably easy to assemble. Each part and bag of hardware was labeled to correspond with the written assembly instructions. The unit was well packaged and the drillings were well done and accurately placed.Note: measure your shoes carefully because I am only able to store 2 pair of shoes (size 7) on each self (= 4 pairs total). Also, the description says "this bench offers added safety by preventing the lid from slamming shut unexpectedly" means that the lid will stay in an open position until you want it to close. Do not misconstrue the description as having soft-close hinges. The hinges are not soft-closing. I will a dampener and/or rubber bumpers so that the lid does not bang shut.

The quality seems good. I'm not sure of the durability of the vinyl-like cushion yet. It was the perfect size for my hallway entry which is maybe slightly wider than modern hallways.One plus I was looking for is the feet. This allows for some unevenness in the floor or going over a transition strip. I may have to put something anti-slip on them. The seat is heavy so when you open it the bench can move on a hard surface. Rubber feet would have been better.My standard slip on shoes just barely fit on the shelves. If the intention is to store shoes just be aware the shelves aren't too tall and the shoes shown in the ad must be pretty small. I mainly just needed a narrow seat and the under seat storage is great for things you sometimes take out the door like my mailbox keys.
