Had this hammer in the past working in professional automotive shop and moved away to different state and bought another and this one is just as great as the one I had .

I wanted to like this hammer, Made in America, sharp blue color but I just can’t. Not sure if the quality control at the Vaughan Manufacturing is lacking or this seller just sells factory seconds but the original and the replacement hammer sent to me have been subpar. The shafts on both are bent off to one side and the heads are twisted off center on both hammers. Now I understand a sledge hammer isn't a precision instrument but these defects affect the ease of use while using said product. I’m not going to settle on where I spend the money I earned, estwing might have gained a new customer

I had to buy this to replace my old 3lb Vaughn that disappeared recently; works great for the weird spots on trucks where a full sledge is too big, made in the USA is a big plus, too.
