These rod holders were mounted on the aluminum bracket that strengthens the seats that span across the interior (Beam), along one side of a 14 foot aluminum fishing boat I purchased. As such they were exposed to the elements year round. Although they showed signs of use they have really held up well. I've had other types made of foam and they didn't hold up over time. These are made of rubber, are rugged and just plain work. They are a very good solution for compact storage for up to 6 rods in your boat all season long. They keep the rods secure with velcro straps during transport and out of the way while on the water. Getting to your rods quickly is a snap with these. Very easy to install. I bought these to replace the old ones in my other boat. Would definitely recommend these if you are looking for a rod storage solution in your boat.

As others have noted, rods will sometimes slip out of the holder when mounted vertically. It really depends on the installation and whether your rod handle is thick enough to stay when closed. It works for some of my rods but not all of them.

Used on 14 foot John Boat . Love the Velcro strap the rod holder portion is silicone they flex and hold well, and I even was able to slit with a knife and jam. A pair of pliers in between the rod holders. Will definitely buy these again when these were out.

Great price / Great product , I can travel down the road without worrying about the fishing rods flying out of the boat, But I only do 40MPH max.

Bought this as a rod holder in my small boat. It works just as I hoped. I left the Velcro off as I’m not interested in securing my fly rods during transport of my boat. I wanted the option to have several fly rods strung up and out of the way while on the water. This does the trick perfectly.
