Everything seems to work fine but take note: This "Kit" comes with a METRIC GRADE STICK. If that is what you want then fine. For my purposes, I should have ordered the kit W/O the grade stick and ordered the grade stick, calibrated in Feet and Inches, separately.

Got the unit, seems to work very well. Came with European charger, need an american charger. Instructions are not very good, but just know that when you power it on, it will begin to self level. Once level it will spin. It has to be within 5 degrees of level or it won't begin to spin. I like it, works well...not sure if can get a european to american adapter. The measuring rod is metric, it seems to be designed well, but is not in feet or inches.

I used this product to do a topographic survey of a small property that I am looking to build on. I have experience as a surveyor but have never used this type of tool. It was easy to set up and use. I tested the accuracy of the unit and it was spot on right out of the box. It was not necessary for me to be more than 150 ft from the unit so I did not test the maximum range. In low light conditions I was able to see the laser reflection on the rod so I only needed to use the clamp on laser reader when in direct sunlight, which was also easy. Overall I am pleased with this product.

It reads in meters only should be meters and inches.

Although the equipment works just fine there are a couple things that need improving. Number one is that the instructions are very unclear. Although the equipment works great, it does not reach the 2000ft mark as stated; more like 1400 ft and the further away you are from the instrument the less sensitive it becomes and it takes a bit more time to get a good reading. Overall, I like the instrument and would most likely buy another if this one failed. Time will tell, but a few months into its use, it has worked great.
