This mag drill is one heckuva machine... especially for the money! It is heavy, but the electromagnet holds very well. I bought this to drill thru frame rails to install an old plow on an old truck. It worked great! My only negative thought is that it runs a little on the fast side for drilling steel, but it works great with adequate drilling/cutting oil and a little patience when drilling with larger bits. All in all a great addition to my shop! RB

For all those complaining about it not sticking, you get what you pay for. I use it every day for commercial trailer repair and it works like a charm. NO problems at all.

Overall fit and finish, quality and performance, IMHO, is unexpectedly good. Arrived a day early and in perfect condition. Electro magnets are very strong as is the drill motor (single speed of 500 rpm is a bit faster than what is always desired). Very little runout with the Jacobs Chuck. Overall quill travel and slack is also good. (It would be easier to use if there was a spring loaded quill lock.) Overall a very good bargain for a metal working hobbiest (sic?) and highly recommended.

This is what I received today. There was also damage to the side but it’s a little hard to see in the photo no I would not recommend and I am not happy.

Excellent drill, stays put and works great. Be careful the bits you order, it makes a difference.

Bought this to drill holes in I-beams using an annular bit. First off, no directions for anything, so don't bother looking. Simple enough to figure out if you've used one before. Not too impressed with the cheap plastic wire protector around the wires going into the drill motor head assembly. Makes a person wonder how cheaply made all the other internal components are that you can't see. Not included with the drill is the MT-2 taper 3/4" Weldon Shank adapter - $47.99 on Amazon. Also not included is an MT2 drift pin. You'll need this to change between chucks if you want to use both standard drill bits and high speed annular cutters. You can get a set on Amazon (HHIP 3900-0265 4-Piece Drift/Center Key Set (Mt 1-2-3- and 4/5/6)) for $17.10. Throw in another $80 to $200.00 for the annular drill bits, and your bargain mag drill is now up to costing you somewhere between $380 to $500.00!

The drill itself is very good. I did make the mistake to not realize it is 50 HZ not 60 hz. Blows fuses constantly. and the chuck that comes with it wobbles.

Great drill! Easy to setup. I’ve drilled 5/8†holes in 1/2†steel plate with no pilot hole. If you push hard on the handle you can disengage the magnet base but it holds fine for normal drilling. Would be nice to have a variable speed for the larger bits.
