These are a significantly less expensive than other name brand units, but why spend the extra? It is just a spring in a steel tube. The rollers are plastic, and should they eventually fail, a steel roller replacement kit is inexpensive. I am really pleased that I can lift the loading gate up with a flip of my foot.

This was easy to install on my trailer and is super helpful. I can raise the tailgate with my foot and very little effort. Does not interfere with the trailer or operation.

I was hesitant to purchased this item because it was so much cheaper than other brands. I have a 6.5 x 12' trailer. I only needed one side. Having one on both sides is a waste. For less than $20 I'm very impressed with the quality and ease of installation. It really saves your back with the spring assist going up and down. I would recommend this product. Don't pay the for the much higher priced ones when you can get the same quality and function with this item.

Great product for not being “name brandâ€. Installed perfectly on my 6.3’x8’ utility trailer with instructions that included pictures. I would suggest buying the end caps that are sold separately. Knocked it down to 4 stars because one of the two I purchased came damaged. Unsure if it was manufacturer or amazon shipping.

I bought 2 of the individual lift assists because at the time it was less expensive than the cost of the pair. The price was very low compared to the Gorilla brand but looked identical to me (except orange instead of yellow). I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the instructions are pretty well done, and the engineering design is great. It’s tough to figure out exactly where you want to put the cable on your ramp gate before you start drilling, but the included hooks help. If you’re going to install two, I would do it simultaneously so you’ll know the amount of tension it will have with both pulling at the same time.I did them one at a time, and I have it set up pretty tight (maybe too tight) but when I lift up my ramp gate now (which has to weight 100lbs, easy) I can do it with one finger until it gets to the top. A real game changer and back saver.

Easy to install and makes a task the I used to take for granted so much easier. Recently had cervical fusion in my neck for ruptured disc and couldn’t pick the trailer tailgate up no longer. With this absolutely effortless just put foot under tailgate and lifts right up well worth it.

Took me about two hours to install taking my time. Had three 1/2†holes to drill and no cutting. Works great.
