If you use FORScan or intend to use FORScan, this is the connector to have. This is the least expensive of the recommended connectors, but I can't yet figure out why. But let's get into my experience with is thus far. It arrived earlier than initially estimated which is a good thing. In the box was the connector and a bi-fold user manual labelled as "Getting Started". My first reaction of this document is that what should have been the front, was at the back, and what should have been at the back, at the front. Odd, but easily overlooked. The connector itself looks very well put together and has some amount of style to it. It's not just a brick with lights and a wire coming out of it. It's somewhat ergonomic and the plastic seems to be of good quality non-shiny material. Like I said, no idea why it's the cheapest. One thing I will say is that this is not plug-and-play. It requires you to download and install a driver from a website, which the manual does a good job of directing you to. This is where things got a little confusing because the manual doesn't tell you specifically which driver to install, except to say "Please select the driver according to your computer system." On the website where you download the driver, a table populated with different links for different systems had a row for Windows, and a column for 32-bit and 64-bit. I installed it on a Windows 10 64-bit machine, so I clicked on the link for that driver. It was actually a zipped file. That's fine if I wanted to manually install the various bits and pieces. Pass on that. The actual executable (.exe) file that does everything automatically, was all the way over in the "Comments" column, labelled as "setup executable". I clicked on that and the prompt to download the .exe file popped up and so on. When it was finished, I ran the file and everything installed without a hitch. Now that I think about it, perhaps this is why it's the cheapest. It's not plug-and-play.If you haven't already installed FORScan you can do so. See their website for your download options. After you've done that just plug the connector into the laptop and then run FORScan. The manual for the connector says to connect it to the car before you open FORScan, but doing that resulted in an error and FORScan closing. I recommend you connect it to the OBDII port after FORSCan has already opened. This connector works seamlessly with FORScan and allows high speed (HS) CAN bus and medium speed (MS) CAN bus modules to be read simultaneously because it switches back and forth automatically. Highly recommended!

This has worked well with Forscan on an ‘18 F150.As advertised, switches between high speed and medium speed rate. Every modification I’ve made has worked flawlessly, as long as the vehicle supports it. Device was detected and installed automatically.Only issue I have is disconnecting via the disconnect button in Forscan. After making a change, cycling the ignition, and returning to the program, the disconnect button is greyed out. I’m guessing it’s a user error. I’ll have to dig deeper into why next time I use it. Otherwise no issues.

I had this cable for over a year, and it works exactly as advertised. I've treated it rough, and the only physical problem it has is that the sticker on the body is starting to peel, which is purely cosmetic. It's intended to only be used with FORScan, which is fine. It worked fine with any laptop I used, and any Ford or Mazda I've worked on. Just remember to install the driver first. I highly recommend this version over any wireless or bluetooth adapter, as this enables flash reprogramming, and it's simply a very reliable product. If you need the range, just buy a cheap USB or OBD2 extension cable.

This has worked perfectly for my 2022 F150 XLT Sport. There are some things that need to be known that are not included in the instructions. First down load forscan and install. After that is complete you need to go to the settings and get to the area for activation and get the product code. You will copy the code and then return to the web page, sign up with your info and paste the code from the app. I typically takes around 10 minutes to get the code generated from the website. Once you get it, you need to follow the instructions on downloading the code to your computer and save it in a place you can find ( I used the desktop). You will then return to the app and go into that setting page and upload to activate your 2 month trial. With this cord, you are directed to website to get the device drivers for windows. The correct one to down load is on the far right side of the page in the table for windows that has the zip file with the exe file in it. Follow the install instructions and you are good to go. You will need to change the speed and the increase in setting but that was plainly shown in the instructions. After that I have had zero issues. Turned off hyper flash turned off other things and discovered I had a few issues.

Used with a USB C adapter (also purchased on Amazon) to run forscan on a Microsoft surface tablet. I installed the FTDI driver as mentioned in the instructions. Adapter worked great and I was able to read my hybrid battery voltage, and clear the hybrid hard set codes after repairing a faulty cooling fan. I then used it to rebalance the hybrid battery and got the car running again. Shop said I needed a new hybrid battery for more than the car was worth. Fixed on my own for a few hundred bucks plus this adapter and forscan app.

I've ordered several code scanners over the years and most haven't been that great. I bought this one to use with the Forscan software that I had installed on my laptop. The codes read quickly in an easy-to-understand manner. I was quickly able to diagnose which of my rear parking sensors needed to be replaced. My only complaint is that the unit I received had a loose connection. When I plugged it into my laptop, I could cause the usb connection to be lost by bending the cable a little bit on the OBD plug side. Once I plugged it in, I had to be sure I didn't jostle the cable.

After trying to use some aftermarket products, I failed miserably and got incredibly frustrated with trying to get an adapter to work. This should have been straightforward and Just a case of downloading a driver. Nothing is further from the truth. The unit that I did buy from Amazon was designed for Forscan and worked immediately. So, so worth the extra money.

i bought this OBD2 adapter to change some settings on my Mustang and my Fiesta using ForScan software. Works as expected. I was able to disable the TPMS warnings on my Fiesta caused by expired TMPS sensors.... i am old school and check tire pressure regularly. And since the low tire pressure warning on both of my Fords kick in at around 25 psi, pressure is already too low and TPMS will not be missed. I was also able to enable steering wheel audio controls in my Mustang after swapping my Base model plastic wheel for a GT500 leather and alcantara wheel. In all, this is a great tool that works great with ForScan

Didn’t need to download new drivers etc was as simple as out the box, connect to forscan then connect to the van. As easy as that no complaints!!
