These products get old and dried out after many years as my mother's did recently and began to chew up her old memories. Rather that take a chance on recurrence, we decided to just get a new replacement. This one, that we eventually purchased, has been put into use about 40 times and we've had no tape damage at all. It just works! Highly recommend.

I have a stack of tapes to dub to DVD. Thing worked ok for the first 4 or 5, but loading the tapes is wonky because apparently it's out of spec. Then it allowed a tape to load wrong and tried to eat itself. I managed to get the thing to be correct after some technical "surgery" but then it wouldn't release my tape or do anything. So now I have a brick of parts after having to disassemble the thing to get my tape back, and almost lost a priceless family tape to boot.I would recommend you buy another brand, but as you can see in my photos, this one is two different brands! They just put one sticker over the other.

Cheaply made, broke after a few uses. Difficulty getting battery slot open.

You need to mess around with it quite a bit to get the tape to load correctly. I have also found that it's better if I remove the battery when not in use. I wouldn't buy it again. But I have been able to watch some old movies. That's the only reason I gave it 2 stars.

Let's view our mini cassettes. Occasionally have trouble with door closing on top or mechanism to adapt tape not working properly.

Ruined a priceless cassette of family memories. Used one time and wouldn’t release cassette. Had to destroy to get it out and then try and salvage it. Piece of garbage
