As a kid I was fortunate enough to study with some of the Jazz Greats and so the moment I put a pair of brushes in my hand, I know whether or not they make the grade. Man, these things really deliver. I have used them on countless recordings. The length is just right, the gum rubber is just the right consistency for crash rolls and nudge accents, and most importantly, the bristles are of exactly the right length and consistency. Best of all, they not only produce the sound you need, but the wires seem to be just a little bit more durable then the old school brushes.

Nothing to go crazy over here. The purchase was exactly what I expected. No issues or surprises. I still don't know if the pricetag is completely fitting, but I actually like these brushes a lot.

Product is for practicing on my snare drum in a small room, so, being able to use these for a more quiet session was most important. Only complaint. Shipper did not deliver on commitment, therefore, while I wait, I might travel to another Music Store to purchase another set, an hour away. 2nd time I have purchased something from Amazon Prime and it has not arrived when promised. Three stars for shipping rating, Five stars for the product.UPDATE: Product arrived a day later and the brushes were enclosed in a plastic tube for protection from Vic Firth. Sounded nice and easy to use on the snare, so, practice should be less noisy. I would buy Vic Firth Drum and Percussion Products again.
