After a year these still are quite nice.Some flexibility in the shaft and nice balance of weight.I just ordered a xylophone on Amazon and sitting pretty until I can put these thru the paces.I luv Vic firth mallets and the variety they offer.I know if I can take care of them they will last many years.I ,am not a pro but appreciate the quality.My next Vic mallets will be a pair of yarn.Difficult buying because I like trying first.I recommend these because they last, and deliver a sweet sound!

I use them for woodblock and they're great. These I use for softer to medium loud music in symphonic band. They work very well.

Great mallets, but watch out for head not being glued on that good. You might have to glue them back in.
