Rebuilding a starter is not a simple task. Do not attempt this unless you know how to saulder and have access to a good quality sauldering tool. My husband's a mechanic and he helped me do this. If you know what your doing it holds up well.

Seems to be missing two brass bushings used for front and rear of the starter housing I am re-ordering to see if another kit has the proper bushings

I ordered the mis-o1 kit for my 99 gm delco starter and discovered it was for a mitsubishi starter. After disassembling my starter I found that this kit was probably what I needed even though the description says otherwise, I also don't believe it would be "great for soaking up spills large and small", as the desciption says! lol Disassemble and compare before ordering!

Purchased the GMS-04 kit for a 1998 Grand Prix 3.8. Description listed this vehicle and the instructions said it would be the right kit as long as it had an 11t starter. The brushes would not fit into the brush holders (too thick). I fed the brushes down to fit but the crimps included to connect the wires would not stay closed. Also note that this kit requires you to have a very good solder gun (mine could not get hot enough for the mass of the parts). Instructions look like photo copies from 30-40 years ago. Some models may be easier but this kit I would avoid.

This was the wrong repair kit for a 2002 Cadillac Ext 6.0 L. The reason I did not return it is I had the starter out and taken a part. At this point it's to late. The only part I could use were the brushes and I had to machine them to work.
