First off, this is NOT a fake review. Second, and most importantly, there are 2 variants of this light. One is USB powered and must be plugged in to work. The other has a rechargeable battery that allows it to be operated w/o any wires or connections. Creating the confusion is the fact that 2 of the videos show the alternate model from the model that is featured and some of the responses for the Q&A are for the alternate model as well as some of the reviews. I was somewhat disappointed when I received the wired model since I thought I had ordered the wireless one. Also I noted that the light did not always come on with the initial press of the power button but sometimes took multiple presses.Normally I would have sent the light back to Amazon and asked for a refund. But on the front of the manual which accompanied the light was a request from the manufacturer, Fansrock, that in case of a problem please contact them first for a quick reply. So I did.Within 15 minutes of sending them an email. I received a response from customer service apologizing for the confusion and the defective unit. I was promised a new light of the wireless variety to be put in the mail immediately. Indeed, within a few days I had the light that I wanted. The description of how the light works is well described in the various videos and written reviews. Both models are mainly plastic but strong enough for routine use. The wired model has a sturdy wire with an inline control panel for light on/off, color balance and intensity. The battery model has these controls across the top of the light plus has a small LED indicator for battery strength on the back. Both models put out a good amount of light for their size. In fact, sitting in front of my lap top and iPad just about 2 feet away from the screen, I had to adjust the light intensity way down for both models. Even then both lights improved the quality of my video image. I found the battery light less troublesome to look into. The wired model at full strength gave me a headache and produced more light than was needed even when I sat back farther from the screen. Each had a different mechanism for securing itself to the video screen and each method was effective. I have not had the battery model long enough to comment on the duration and recharge rate of the battery. The battery model comes with an additional back mount that seems to be intended for use with a cellphone (based on the diagram in the small manual) but using it that way clearly blocks a good part of the phone's screen. Instead I find that using the standard clip mount does an adequate job and leaves the phone's screen mostly clear. In all I find both models a good value for the price. And I find the customer service from Fansrock to be exceptionally good. Just be aware that in ordering the unit that is currently displayed online will be the wired, USB powered light and NOT the rechargeable battery model.

Working remotely has required me to convert an extra room into an office for me. However, as the room has a ceiling fan with a light in the center of the room, it would cause a distortion to my video conferences. For this reason, I started looking for an inexpensive solution. I found this USB-powered light that allowed for multiple light settings, but more importantly, a swivel head unit. I wanted this because I find that most conference lights provide a harsh straight-on light that looks unnatural and is blinding when trying to present for hours at a time. This device promised both needs would be met, and it did not disappoint. As seen in the pictures, the light is very bright when facing the user, but since my desk faces the white wall, I am able to turn the unit and bounce the strong light off it and provide a much more natural and pleasing light in the meetings. I can recommend this product.

This light has been a great addition to my remote work setup. The brightness is just right, and it makes me look so much better on camera. I love how easy it is to adjust the light levels to fit different rooms and times of day. The clip is strong and stays put on my laptop without slipping. The only thing I’d improve is having more options for adjusting the color of the light. Overall, it’s a solid product that’s made a real difference for my Zoom calls and streaming!

I've had this for nearly a year now and it continues to work great for work. I have a dark room and without it, I'd have major lighting issues for meetings. There's three different lighting settings and it fits easy on the monitor. I don't use the highest setting, because it's so bright it kind of blinds you.Great product!

Strong & Simple Webcam light that took 20 seconds to install out of the box. The 3 light settings are perfect for the type of room and light you need. I actually purchased 2 of them and mounted them on opposite sides of my monitor. Video calls look great now. Would highly recommend if you want to look good and professional on calls.

It's a fine light. It's fine. It's wired so you don't have to deal with batteries, it stays securely perched on my monitor, and it has selectable color temperatures.I thought the control placement would be much more annoying than it is. It's still annoying having to reach behind my screen to operate, but I thought it would be more annoying. The biggest complaint I have is that the light doesn't remember the brightness setting from the last time it was on, even when it stays plugged in. This means I have to preview my camera feed and adjust the brightness every time I use it, or just leave it on all the time. I would think this would be a no-brainer. Either I'm wrong, or the designer has no brain.

The light from my overhead light was too dim and yellow. I use this for video conferences and now I look "normal" instead of too yellow. Good even color that's natural looking.

Not a fake review. Budget video conferencing lighting needs when working from home had me try this inexpensive unit. It worked decent and seemed to be built well but only lasted just over 2 months. I will be replacing it with a much more substantial one so the loss of funds doesn't matter greatly as it was a successful proof of concept. - Update: mfg reached out and offered a new replacement ASAP. Admirable and I've moved from 2 to 4 stars.

I use this little ring light for video calls at work and it’s great!! I love the diffused light. You just plug in the USB and go! No downloads needed. You can adjust brightness and colour. The clip works excellent on both my laptop & larger monitor. Super light and easy to move around.

Have used it a few times now and while it can take a bit of time to find the most effective position and brightness for a given day (this changes depending on surrounding light), it works pretty well. The clip that holds the light in place on the screen (at least that's where i put it) works, but is a bit fiddly to use
