I loved this as a kid and when I saw that you could still buy them...I had to get one for my grandson. He loves to put the disks in and switch to see the pictures. Old fashioned technology that keeps kids entertained. Love it.

LOVE the View Master ! My Grand has Quite a few things and I wanted something different...Flashback LOL to 1960's and OF course I went to My site of finding the unusual 99.99% of the time ! Amazon ! AND Voila!! (i know other sites but i don't have time and trust on customer service is critical to me) Best Birthday present !! He loves and can name ALL the dinosaurs and love to ID them which he does correctly (this is favorite past time for last year minimum LOL).. The 3D images are extremely nice! Very colorful,so much so ,even the landscape created and a very thoughtful, informative (to me) conversation and that was just on the one dinosaur, disk, we have not looked at the other ones yet..I really enjoy it with him and the old fashion click down priceless, His Mom laughed because in the 70;s I got her and my Son one..It is a hit with his cousins, uncle etc but the best thing of All...How much time he spends on it along with his Microscope we got..If the disk tears or messes up we will find other ones but even so if we don't find any more which i doubt, that whole day was so worth it... period. And Mom stated its still his go to every day:)

The quality is just not there. It is made of a lightweight cheap plastic, which I guess is to be expected. But the viewable reels are a thin paper and were already bentwhen I got. It was not enough to send them back but enough that you have to wiggle it to get in the viewfinder and on the dinosaur slide, several times it won't advance without having to do it several times. I would look for another brand if you want to view master.

My 7 year old loved this gift. I loved there was no technology involved. Nicely made and will hold up well. The case to hold the discs was definitely needed to insure they stay good.

Sadly you can't find these in brick and mortar stores anymore, not even Walmart! Ordered this for my younger 2nd cousin for a late Christmas present. He loves animals, science, and learning. We had these as kids, and loved them!A great present for him!!

This is a gift for my grandson and I was so excited when it came in. This is a retro educational toy and I was able to access the viewer. Reminded me of my childhood, the awe and excitement of seeing something made to look so real right in your own environment. It may be the only way some children can acess this kind of info., this kind of education. There is a lot to be said for simplicity!

It's not as heavy as the 80's version but that's expected considering synthetic technology has improved a lot since. Also, when I used one as a child I was smaller so it would have seemed larger to me then. I think this is about the same size. It's mainly being used by children so the lighter weight is a lot safer in my opinion.I read some say the slide sticks. It doesn't if you insert them correctly. At least I had zero issues when I did insert them correctly. There is a small black arrow that tells you where to insert the slide. It came with a dinosaur slide pre-inserted and that may stick, but if you remove it and re-insert it correctly it won't stick. Just a note that the dinosaur slide is obviously not real dinosaurs but staged clippings in a backdrop. I believe this was just a throw-in tester, but the other two slides have real animal pics and they look just as impressive as how I remembered back in the day.If you get a set of Marvel / comics / anime or 'other' slides, then this becomes a whole new experience for everyone. Enjoy!

Quality is not as shown in the website. We have received the product Very late. Very poor business ethics. Once they have sent it after a month, they have removed the option to return it back. We end up with an inferior quality plastic junk for higher price. This is supposed to be a birthday gift. Got disappointed ☹ï¸.

Good sturdy structure. Images are good but i'm not a huge fan of the 3D aspect of it.
